SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (2-0) built an 18-point second-half lead on the way to defeating Salve Regina, 80-72, in its home opener on Saturday afternoon.
• Amado poured in a career-high 29 points and senior Andrew Kirkpatrick added 13 points, nine assists and four steals for the Beavers, who used a 19-0 run midway through the second half to seize command of the game.
• Amado is averaging 29.0 points and 11.0 rebounds over the first two games, Kirkpatrick (18.0 pts, 6.0 ast, 4.0 stl) is shooting 45.2 percent, and first-year Timmy O'Toole is contributing 10.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals in two starts.
• Amado and Kirkpatrick are the lone returning starters from a team that went 19-8 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last winter.

SCOUTING THE BLUEJAYS
• No. 13 Saint Joseph (Conn.) opened the season with a 69-60 win over Yeshiva last Wednesday.
• Ryan O'Neill led four players in double figures with a game-high 18 points, Mitchell added 14 and both Martin and Samuels finished with 12 points and four steals for the Blue Jays, who turned 21 Maccabees turnovers into 31 points.
• Saint Joseph (Conn.) returns six of its top seven scorers and 13 players in all from a team that finished 26-2 after being upset in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
• Martin (12.6 pts, 6.1 ast, 5.3 reb) was one of four players to average double figures in scoring, while O'Neill (12.5 pts, 4.5 reb) and Mitchell (11.9 pts) both shot better than 40 percent from three-point range.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK
• Babson committed just nine turnovers in Saturday's win over Salve Regina and has turned the ball over on just 14 percent of its possessions in two outings to begin the season.
• The Beavers committed 16 turnovers in last year's loss to Saint Joseph (Conn.) and the Blue Jays forced over 18 turnovers per game last year.

BEAVERS BITES
• Sophomore Parker Mason made his first career start in Saturday's win over Salve Regina, contributing seven points, three rebounds and one blocked shot in 23 minutes.
• First-year Mark Woolhouse is 3-of-5 from three-point range and is averaging 6.5 points off the bench in the Beavers' first two contests.
• Kirkpatrick has 12 assists and just three turnovers over the first two games, which is good for a 4.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.
