Box Score BOSTON, Mass.—No. 12/17 Babson College and Emerson College went head-to-head for 90 minutes and neither team could put the ball into the net Saturday afternoon and the teams settled for a 0-0 draw in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer action at Rotch Field.
With the outcome, Babson is now 8-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in conference play while Emerson, unbeaten in its last five games (4-0-1), moves to 6-2-3 overall and 3-0-1 in the NEWMAC.
Senior Morgan Fedosiewich (Ottawa, Ontario) made five saves in goal for the Beavers for her NEWMAC-leading seventh shutout of the season. Sophomore Amara Schaub (Torrance, Calif.) made seven saves for the hosts for her fifth clean sheet of the campaign.
Shots for the game were tied at 12 apiece, with Emerson owning a 7-5 advantage in the first half and Babson possessing a 7-5 margin in the last 45 minutes.
Babson's best chance at a goal came in the 14th minute but a shot by junior Natalie Knauf (Point Pleasant, N.J.) bounced off the cross bar.
Emerson earned several opportunities to snap the scoreless game, the first coming in the 59th minute. Johnston fired a shot that dinged the left post and went to wide to the left, which allowed the Lions a corner. A minute later, Bruce fired a low shot just past the left post.
The next opportunity the Lions gained came in the 65th minute when junior Madeline Khaw broke away with one defender on trailing, but her shot landed in the hands of Fedosiewich.
The Beavers will be back on Hartwell-Rogers Field for a pair of games next week, beginning with Springfield on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Emerson plays again on Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Wheaton.

• Babson now owns a 6-2-2 advantage in the all-time series against Emerson dating back to 2013.
