• Junior Andrew Kirkpatrick scored a game-high 21 points and sophomore Kieran Dorney finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Beavers defeated Emerson, 80-73, back on January 5, in Babson Park.
• Graduate student Mitchell Kirsch contributed nine points, eight rebounds and five assists, while first-year Nate Amado added nine points and seven boards for the Beavers, who led 44-31 at halftime.
• Senior Jarred Houston recorded a triple-double with 24 points, rebounds and 10 blocked shots for the Lions, who shot 56.7 percent in the second half.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (13-5, 6-1 NEWMAC) extended its winning streak to four with a 71-68 OT victory at Clark on Wednesday night.
• Senior Colin Bradanese finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds and graduate Spencer Cline scored 17 points to lead four players in double figures for the Beavers, who trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half.
• Bradanese (14.6 pts, 6.7 reb) is shooting 53.7 percent from the floor, Amado (12.0 pts, 7.3 reb) ranks seventh in the NEWMAC in rebounding, and Dorney (10.8 pts, 5.6 reb) has reached double figures in scoring five times in seven league games.
• The Green and White first in conference play in scoring offense (79.0 points), field goal percentage (46.5) and three-point field goal percentage (38.0).
SCOUTING THE LIONS
• Emerson (12-4, 5-2 NEWMAC) dispatched Springfield, 98-77, for its fourth consecutive victory on Wednesday.
• Houston finished with 28 points on 11-of-14 shooting and 21 rebounds, while Max Davis came off the bench to score 23 points as five players finished in double figures for the Lions, who made a season-high 14 three-pointers.
• Houston (19.3 pts, 14.5 reb,3.6 blk) leads the conference in rebounds and blocks, senior Zach Waterhouse (15.5 pts, 4.0 reb) is shooting 40.3 percent from beyond the arc, and classmate Nate Martin (11.9 pts, 2.9 reb) has scored in double figures in seven of the last eight contests.
• Emerson ranks second in league play in scoring offense (78.0 points) and field goal percentage (46.0) to go along with a +6.6 rebounding margin.
BALANCED BEAVERS
• Bradanese (13.1 points), Dorney (13.0) and Amado (11.5) are all averaging double figures in scoring over Babson's first seven NEWMAC games, while the trio of Cline (9.9), Kirsch (8.6) and Kirkpatrick (8.2) give the team six players contributing at least eight points per outing.
• Five different players have led the Green and White in scoring at the midway-point of conference play.
COMING THROUGH IN THE CLUTCH
• Bradanese and Kirsch combined for all 14 points in overtime as the Green and White picked up its second road victory of the year on Wednesday at Clark
• The Beavers are 4-1 this season in games decided by six points or less and have won three times this winter when trailing with five minutes to play in regulation.
