Box Score BABSON PARK, Mass.—Graduate student Spencer Cline (Mason, Ohio) scored a game-high 30 points on 11-of-11 shooting to help Babson College roll to a 104-65 win over visiting Wheaton College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon inside Staake Gymnasium.
With its fifth win in the last six contests, Babson improves to 10-5 overall and 3-1 in league play, while Wheaton dips to 5-8 overall and 0-2 in the NEWMAC.
Cline, who scored 25 first-half points, buried a season-high three-pointers and grabbed eight rebounds to lead three players in double figures for the Beavers. His 11-for-11 effort also marks the most field goals made without a miss this season by any Division III player.
Senior Colin Bradanese (Billerica, Mass.) recorded his team-leading fourth double-double with 18 points and 14 boards, while sophomore Kieran Dorney (Garden City, Mass.) chipped in with 15 points. Eight different players scored at least six points for Babson, a group that included sophomore Stephen Watson (Pittsburgh, Pa.), who canned a pair of three-pointers and dished out three assists in his first career start.
Junior Aaron Williams (Springfield, Mass.) and first-years Tarmo Tari (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Kaled Thaher (Amman, Jordan) all scored 10 points to lead the Lyons.
The Green and White, which never trailed in the game, scored on five of its first seven possessions to build an 11-3 lead just over three minutes into the contest. Cline knocked down his first three-pointer to extend the lead to 23-9 at the 12:30 mark and then followed up a layup by Dorney and a triple by first-year David Cross (Cinnaminson, N.J.) with 19 consecutive points as the Beavers pushed its advantage to 47-23 with under three minutes remaining in the first half.
Cline's sixth three-pointer of the opening stanza gave Babson a 29-point lead, and Bradanese knocked down a jumper with 28 seconds remaining to make it 56-28 at the break.
Four different players contributed points, including eight straight by Dorney, as the Beavers made seven of their first 11 shots out of the locker room to push their margin to 73-37 with 13:02 to play. Taro and Thaher combined for 14 points as Wheaton outscored the hosts 26-13 over the next eight-plus minutes to cut its deficit to 86-63 with 4:20 remaining before the Green and White closed the game with an 18-2 run that saw junior Dave Crouch (Jacksonville, Fla.), sophomore Jesse Jones (Clermont, Fla.) and first-year Rob Crouch (Jacksonville, Fla.) score six points apiece.
Babson shot a season-best 61.2 percent from the floor and buried a season-high 16 three-pointers while finishing 57.1 percent from beyond the arc. The Beavers also dished out a season-best 28 assists and finished with a 43-33 edge on the glass.
The Lyons shot 37.9 percent and were just 5-of-19 (26.3 percent) from three-point range.
Babson is back in action on Wednesday when it hosts MIT at 7 p.m., while Wheaton travels to Clark on Monday at 7 p.m.

• The Beavers are now 39-14 all-time against Wheaton and have won 21 of the last 23 games in the series.
• Babson's 56 first-half points were its most since putting up 60 in a 99-85 win over Tufts on December 8, 2019.
• The last Babson player to make at least 10 field goals without a miss was Jack Coolahan '20, who poured in 35 points on 13-of-13 shooting against WPI on January 11, 2020.
• With three blocked shots on Saturday, Bradanese is now up to 70 for his career tying him with Jeff Nicholson '05 for fourth place on the program's all-time list.
• The Beavers' 28 assists are the most in a single game over the last decade surpassing the 27 dished out in a 91-57 victory over Becker on November 22, 2016.
