SERIES HISTORY
• Babson and Springfield will meet for the 39th time on Saturday in a series that dates back to the 1970s.
• The Beavers are just 4-34 all-time against the Pride but have won two straight regular season matchups between the teams.

LAST MEETING
• Senior John Calicchio scored three goals and Owen Allen '20 added a goal and two assists to lift Babson to a 9-5 win over the Pride on April 6, 2019, in Springfield, Mass.
Christopher Aranalde '20 finished with seven saves for the Beavers, who took advantage of 28 Springfield turnovers.
• Jack Vail, Lucas Habich and senior Patrick Watson all recorded a goal and an assist for the Pride, which trailed 6-2 at halftime.

SCOUTING THE PRIDE
• Springfield (0-2, 0-2 NEWMAC) is coming off a 14-12 loss to Clark last Saturday following a three-week hiatus.
• Sophomore Kevin Tierney finished with six goals and graduate student Joe Hawley added two goals and one assist for the Pride, which won just 7-of-30 face-offs against the Cougars.
• Tierney has 10 goals over the first two games, junior Zac Shuette (3-5-8) and Hawley (3-4-7) have combined to dish out nine assists, and sophomore Riley Burgmyer tallied all three of his goals in a March 27 loss to Coast Guard.
• Junior Connor Roberts leads the defense with six ground balls and five caused turnovers, while the duo of sophomore Jake Cupek and first-year Jack Hamilton have combined to post a 14.00 goals against average to go along with a .429 save percentage.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (2-0, 2-0 NEWMAC) stayed unbeaten with a 21-5 rout of Emerson last Saturday.
• Junior Peter Chisholm scored a career-high six goals and sophomore Chi Chi Price tallied four times for the Beavers, who scored six times in the first 4:41 of the contest.
• Junior Ryan Donovan (5-3-8) has produced back-to-back multi-point games to open the season, Chisholm's seven goals rank fourth in the NEWMAC, and duo of Price (5-1-6) and senior Mason O'Hanlon (5-1-6) has combined for 10 goals over the first two contests.
• First-year Grey Sunderland has won 33-of-41 face-offs, senior Will Messner (2-2-4) has picked up seven ground balls to go along with two caused turnovers, and classmate Mac Mowat has made two stops between the pipes stopping five of the seven shots he's faced.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
• Not only is Babson seeking a third straight regular season win over Springfield, but it can also clinch at least a share of its second NEWMAC regular season title in three seasons and the program's third since 2015.
• A victory would also ensure the Beavers their first home playoff game since 2016.

REGIONAL RECOGNITION
• After improving to 2-0 last Saturday, the Green and White jumped into the NEILA Division III poll in a tie for eighth with Colby.
• Babson is one of two NEWMAC programs in the latest poll along with Coast Guard, which is sixth for the second week in a row.

"X" FACTOR
• Sunderland, who leads the Green and White with 17 ground balls, and junior Jack Gregory (11-of-14) have helped the Beavers win 80 percent of their face-offs over the first two games.
• Springfield, which has dropped its first two outings by a total of three goals, has won just 20-of-61 face-offs (32.8 percent) this spring.

SUCCESS AGAINST SPRINGFIELD
