Box Score WALTHAM, Mass.—Senior Colin Bradanese (Billerica, Mass.) forced overtime with a late three-pointer and sophomore Kieran Dorney (Garden City, N.Y.) finished with 21 points and a career-high 21 rebounds to help Babson College defeat Salem State University, 82-80, in the consolation game of the New England Big 4 Challenge on Saturday afternoon inside Red Auerbach Arena.
With the win, Babson improves to 6-4 on the year. Salem State drops to 4-5 overall with its fifth consecutive loss.
Dorney, who grabbed nine offensive rebounds, also dished out five assists, while Bradanese scored 21 points to go along with seven rebounds and four assists to lead the Beavers. First-years Nate Amado (Hanson, Mass.) and David Cross (Cinnaminson, N.J.) each had nine points and graduate student Mitchell Kirsch (Atkinson, N.H.) contributed six rebounds, six assists and a game-high five steals.
Senior Conner Byrne (Melrose, Mass.) poured in 27 points on 12-of-14 shooting and pulled down 19 rebounds, while graduate student Sean Bryan (Lowell, Mass.) finished with 15 points, 13 boards and a game-high seven assists to lead the Vikings. Sophomore Josiah Green (Springfield, Mass.) added 12 points in the loss.
The Green and White faced its largest deficit of the game at 62-55 after Green buried a three-pointer with 11:28 to play in the second half. Dorney pulled the Beavers within one after converting a three-point play with 8:32 remaining and Bradanese followed up a triple by first-year Rob Crouch (Jacksonville, Fla.) to take a 70-69 advantage with 3:28 left.
The Vikings answered with back-to-back hoops but Brandanese knocked down a three-pointer from the right corner with 18 seconds to go. Bryan missed a pull-up jumper on the other end sending the game to overtime.
The lead changed hands four times over the first two minutes of the extra session before Dorney hit a pair of free throws to put Babson in front 79-77. Senior James Welch (Needham, Mass.) buried a pull-up from the left elbow with 51 seconds to go for a four-point edge before Green answered with a triple get Salem State back within 81-80. Bradanese made 1-of-2 free throws with 19 ticks remaining and the Vikings turned the ball over with a chance to tie.
The Beavers shot just 34.7 percent but scored 26 second-chance points off of 28 offensive rebounds in the win. Salem State shot 52.2 percent and outscored the Green and White 54-34 in the paint.
Babson travels to Harvard for an exhibition contest on Monday at 7 p.m., while the Vikings visit Endicott on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

 • The Beavers are now 9-13 all-time against Salem State, which includes a 5-4 mark versus the Vikings in the Big 4 Challenge.
 • Babson's 28 offensive rebounds are its most over the last decade and the first time the team has grabbed more than 20 since an 88-84 OT loss at Bowdoin on November 29, 2015.
