No. 12 Men's Hoops Rolls Past Regis, 84-59

HARTFORD, Conn.—Sophomore Colin Bradanese (Billerica, Mass.) scored a career-high 27 points as Babson College defeated Regis College, 84-59, in the consolation game of the Trinity Holiday Invitational on Tuesday afternoon inside Ray Oosting Gymnasium.

With the win, Babson wraps up non-conference play at 10-1. Regis slips to 1-8 on the year with its fifth straight loss.

Bradanese finished 11-of-14 from the floor in just 21 minutes of action for the Beavers. Junior Andrew Jaworski (Tolland, Conn.) scored 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting to go along with five rebounds and two steals, while sophomore James Welch (Needham, Mass.) came off the bench to score a season-high 10 points in the win.

Junior Marc Trinidad (Bronx, N.Y.) scored 21 points and grabbed a game-high six rebounds to lead the Pride.

Bradanese and Jaworski combined for 15 points as the Green and White jumped out to a 17-6 edge less than six minutes into the contest. Regis closed within seven on a hoop by junior Gibou Njie (Miramar, Fla.) at the 11:02 mark, but the Beavers responded with a 9-0 run to push its lead to 31-15 on a triple by Welch with 8:59 to go in the half.

Welch knocked down another three-pointer just before halftime and Jaworski and senior Jack Coolahan (Newtown, Pa.) scored on back-to-back trips to give Babson a 48-32 advantage 90 seconds into the second half. The Pride got as close as eight at the 13:42 mark and was down just nine before the Beavers pulled away with a 20-8 spurt.

Coolahan and junior Matt Pattyson (Doylestown, Pa.) started the run with consecutive three-pointers, Jaworski canned another triple to make it 66-49 with 7:47 to play, and Bradanese scored Babson's next eight points to stretch the advantage to 74-53 with 5:17 remaining.

The Green and White shot a season-best 61.1 percent from the floor and went 9-of-18 from behind the arc. The Beavers also outscored Regis 42-30 in the paint.

Babson returns to action on January 8 when it hosts Springfield in its NEWMAC opener at 5 p.m., while the Pride take on Rivier on Thursday at 3 p.m.

• Tuesday's meeting was the first all-time between the Beavers and Regis.
• Babson has now made at least eight three-point field goals in eight straight outings.
• The Beavers are 8-0 this season when scoring at least 80 points.
• Babson has shot better than 60 percent twice and at least 50 percent from the floor in eight of its first 11 games this season.
