• Junior Andrew Jaworski scored 19 points, senior Frank Oftring contributed 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting and Brandon Johnson '19 recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds as Babson defeated Lasell, 82-58, on November 14, 2018, in Newton, Mass.
• The Beavers outscored the Lasers 50-16 in the paint and pushed a five-point lead at the break into a 18-point advantage with a 17-4 run to start the second half.
• Senior Stefan Masciarelli led all scorers with 25 points for the Lasell, which shot just 31.5 percent on the night.
SCOUTING THE LASERS
• Lasell (0-1) dropped its season opener to Fitchburg State on Friday, 83-74.
• Junior Kevin Vanderhorst finished recorded a double-double with 32 points and 11 rebounds and junior Kevin Nunez added 15 points and six boards for the Lasers, who shot just 1-of-15 from beyond the arc.
• Lasell returns just six players from a team that went 7-19 and bowed out in the GNAC quarterfinals last winter.
• Masciarelli averaged 24.6 points, Nunez (16.9 pts, 6.9 reb) recorded a pair of double-doubles, and junior Dylan Murray (11.9 pts) made a team-high 71 three-pointers.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (2-0) wrapped up an unbeaten opening weekend with a 97-70 victory over Suffolk on Sunday afternoon.
• Junior Crew Ainge scored 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting and senior Jack Coolahan and sophomore James Welch added 14 points apiece for the Beavers, who started the game with a 23-4 run.
• Coolahan is averaging 16.0 points and 6.0 rebounds, sophomore Beau Smith (14.5 pts, 6.0 reb) is shooting 66.7 percent from the floor, and Ainge (13.5 pts, 4.0 ast) has dished out eight assists against just one turnover over his first two starts for the Green and White.
• Babson is shooting 51.9 percent and has committed just 13 turnovers over its first two games.
SPREADING OUT THE SCORING
• Seven different players have already scored in double figures through two games for the Beavers, who had five players scoring double figures in their opener against Anna Maria and had six players score 10 or more points for the first time since February 2018 in the win over Suffolk.
• Babson also has assisted on 52.9 percent of its field goals to begin the season.
