Men's Alpine Skiing Posts Fourth Straight Runner-Up Finish

QUEENSBURY, N.Y.—Senior Carter Dowd (Salt Lake City, Utah) and sophomore Jackson Vanzon-Borwick (South Egremont, Mass.) both put together a pair of solid runs to help the Babson College alpine ski team finish second in the slalom at West Mountain on Sunday.

The Beavers top four competitors finished just 3.12 seconds behind Clarkson, which picked up its second victory of the season. The Green and White, which has finished the runner-up in each of its first four MacConnell Division races, was 1.64 seconds faster than third-place UConn. Castleton came in fourth, while Saint Anselm finished a distant fifth.

Dowd came in third overall and has now finished fourth or better in four consecutive races, while Vanzon-Borwick was just 0.06 seconds behind him in fourth place. Sophomore T.J. Pope (Bountiful, Utah) finished in 12th position and classmate John Boland (Waitsfield, Vt.) came in 18th. Senior Graham Quisenberry (Farmington, Conn.) recorded a 25th-place finish, while junior Max Barber (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and senior Sam Barber (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) finished 29th and 42nd, respectively.

Babson returns to action next Saturday when it competes in the first of two giant slalom races at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, N.Y.
