BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Junior tri-captain Kayla
Pomponi (Belmont, Mass.) and sophomore Patty
Pytlik (Wellesley, Mass.) both scored goals to help the
Babson women's soccer team earn a 2-2 tie with host Bridgewater
State College in a non-conference tilt on Saturday morning.
Bridgewater State (0-1-1) got on the board first with a goal by
Kaitlin Lamothe at 12:13, but Babson (2-2-2) evened the contest
when Pytlik scored her second goal of the year off a Pomponi assist
at 48:52. The Beavers then took the lead when Pomponi netted her
second of the season at 60:49, but the Bears would knot the score
again when Lamothe tallied her second of the day at 71:44. Babson
would outshoot Bridgewater State, 3-1, in the two overtime periods
as part of a 17-8 advantage for the game, but neither team would
score as the contest finished in a 2-2 tie.
Sophomore Sarah Macary (Woodbury, Conn.)
started and played all 110 minutes in net for Babson, finishing
with four saves, while Kayla Grover stopped seven shots in goal for
Bridgewater State.
