WALTHAM, Mass. -- Brandeis University received two first-half
goals from Tiffany Pacheco on its way to a 2-0 victory over
visiting Babson College in a non-conference women's soccer contest
on Wednesday evening. The loss evened the Beavers' record at 2-2-1
on the year, while the Judges remained unbeaten at 4-0 with the
win.
Babson outshot the hosts, 8-7, in the opening stanza, but it
would be Pacheco that would capitalize when she netted her fourth
goal of the year off an assist from Izabella Miranda at 21:45. She
then struck again at 34:37 when she converted a feed from Mimi
Theodore for a 2-0 advantage. That lead would hold up the rest of
the way, as Judges' goalie Hillary Rosenzweig finished with three
saves to secure the shutout.
Sophomore Saray Macary (Woodbury, Conn.) made
her second straight start in net for Babson, finishing with six
saves in defeat. The Beavers will look to get back on the winning
track this Saturday, when they head to Bridgewater State for an 11
a.m. matchup with the Bears.
