BABSON PARK, Mass. - Senior co-captain Caitlin Boulier (Wolcott, Conn.) scored 15 of her season-high 20 points in the second half to lead the Babson College women's basketball team to a 62-53 victory over visiting Endicott College in a non-conference contest at Staake Gymnasium on Thursday night. With their fifth win in the last seven games, the Beavers improved to 6-8, while the Gulls lost for the first time in three games to fall to 7-7.

Boulier's game-high 20 points came on 7-of-13 shooting from the field, including a 4-for-5 mark from three-point range. Senior Linsey Poulson (Leominster, Mass.) also continued her stellar play of late with 16 points, nine rebounds and three steals, and senior Caitlin Fenn (Niantic, Conn.) tossed in 11 points while joining Boulier with three assists. First-year Amanda Grammel (Leominster, Mass.) added eight rebounds, three steals, and a game-high five assists, and fellow rookie Rebecca Bowman (Melrose, Mass.) contributed eight points and five boards.

Endicott was led by junior Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, N.H.), who finished with 15 points and six rebounds, and junior Nicole Young (Rockland, Mass.), who posted 10 points. First-year Ashley Vitale (Wilmington, Mass.) turned in a solid effort with eight points, four rebounds, and four blocked shots, and senior Aubrey Drugan (Salem, N.H.) chipped in with seven points for the Gulls.

In a first-half filled with runs, Endicott jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first three and a half minutes before a 13-0 Babson spurt later in the period gave the hosts a 17-11 cushion. The gulls battled back and tied the contest at 18-18 on a Drugan jumper with 3:16 left, but Babson scored the final seven points of the half to take a 25-18 advantage into the locker room.

After shooting just 2-for-7 in the first half, Boulier took over in the second, scoring six points on a pair of trifectas during an 8-0 run that gave the Beavers their largest lead of the game, 37-22, with 15 minutes remaining. The Gulls would eventually get back to within eight after back-to-back jumpers by Young with 9:40 to go and then again after another Young bucket at 9:12, but Boulier responded with five straight points to push the advantage back to 13, 50-37, with 6:19 to play. Endicott would get no closer than nine until the final minute as Babson held on for the 62-53 victory.
