St. Lawrence Overpowers Women's Basketball, 83-55

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - St. Lawrence University jumpd out to a 15-2 lead and never looked back on its way to an 83-55 victory over Babson College at the Surf City Classic at Vanguard University. With the loss, the Beavers will return home with a record of 3-6 overall.

Senior Suzy Ward was magnificent in defeat for Babson, as she accounted for nearly half of the Beavers' scoring output. The veteran forward shot 9-for-16 from the floor and 8-for-8 from the free throw line to finish with 26 points, while also grabbing a team-high 11 rebounds and blocking a pair of shots.

Junior Linsey Poulson also reached double figures for the Beavers, finishing with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting, while senior captain Colleen Burke added four points, four rebounds, and a game-high seven assists.

St. Lawrence had four players in double figures, led by Kim Sikule's 15 points. SLU shot 55.4 percent from the field in the contest, including a 58.8 percent clip (10-for-17) from three-point range.
