BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College head women's soccer coach Kerry Baldwin announced the hiring of part-time assistant coaches Matt Jones and Claire Ewen on Friday. 

Jones, who served as the head girls soccer coach at Scituate High School for the last three seasons, is currently the Girls Academy Aspire director and tournament director for the New England Force soccer club. Prior to joining New England Force in June 2025, Jones spent 12 years with the New England Futbol Club with a focus on comprehensive player development and long-term pathway planning for aspiring collegiate and professional athletes. Jones worked with the NEFC Girls Academy and helped the club's U14 and U19 squads reach the national finals in 2025. 

In addition to his success at the club and high school levels, Jones has more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience, which includes serving as the head men's soccer coach at Division II College of St. Rose from 2011-14. He also was an assistant women's soccer coach at St. Rose from 2003-05 and 2008-10, where he helped the Golden Knights advance to the NCAA Tournament semifinals in 2008 and 2009. 

Along with his time at St. Rose, Jones spent two seasons as an assistant men's soccer coach at Siena College from 2006-2008 following one season as the head men's soccer coach at Hudson Valley Community College. 

A 2003 graduate of St. Rose, Jones was a three-year captain and ranks second in program history in assists and fourth all-time in both goals and points. 

A native of Arlington, Mass., Ewen joins the Babson women's soccer staff following a terrific four-year career as a goalkeeper at Division II Bentley University. She started 52 of 55 games from 2021-24 going 21-19-12 with a 0.96 goals against average and a .837 save percentage to go along with 21 clean sheets. 

Ewen, who was selected as the 2023 Northeast 10 Goalkeeper of the Year, earned all-conference honors in each of her final three seasons, and claimed a spot on the D2 Conference Commissioner's Association all-region squad as a junior. As a senior captain in 2024, Ewen went 8-3-6 with a career-high 11 shutouts to go along with a career-low 0.58 goals against and the top save percentage (.884) of her career while helping the Falcons reach the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in program history. 

A 2025 graduate of Bentley with a degree in quantitative economics, Ewen is currently working towards her master's degree in financial analytics from her alma mater.
