Bansal Earns WGCA All-American Scholar Honors

FRISCO, Texas—Babson College first-year Vanya Bansal (Noida, India) became the first player in program history to receive All-America Scholar honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) earlier this summer.

To be recognized as a WGCA All-America Scholar, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and have played in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds. Bansal was one of 1,551 women's collegiate golfers to receive this prestigious distinction.

Bansal put together a terrific rookie campaign that included finishing with a team-best 76.75 scoring average and four top-15 finishes in events of least 36 holes. She was the medalist at the Colonial Women's Golf Championship (CWGC), tied for fourth place at the Jack Leaman Invitational in April and posted a season-best round of 2-under 71 on the way to placing ninth at the Polar Bear Shootout back in October with a 36-hole total of 1-under 145.

The CWGC Player and Rookie of the Year, Bansal's 76.75 stroke average ranks second in single-season program history. Additionally, she concluded the 2025-26 campaign ranked 51st nationally and 20th in the East Region in the Division III Scoreboard rankings.

Babson, which captured the inaugural CWGC championship last October, ended the year ranked 24th in the WGCA Division III poll.
