WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.— Babson College sophomore
Aithan Bezanson (Danvers, Mass.) sits in first place after the first five events of the decathlon to highlight the Beaver performances on Friday at the Farley Inter Regional track & field meet at Williams College.
Bezanson has scored 3391 points at the halfway mark, including first-place finishes in the long jump with a leap of 21-feet-even and the high jump by clearing 6-feet, 1.5-inches. He also placed second in the 100 meter dash in 11.50 seconds and the 400 meter in a time of 51.94 seconds, and third in the shot put with a mark of 36-feet, 3.5-inches.
Junior
Stratton Seymour (Merrimac, Mass.) is also competing in the decathlon and he is in seventh place with 2734 points. He took fourth place in the high jump clearing 5-feet, 10-inches and finished seventh in the 100 meters (12.19), long jump (17-feet, 8.50-inches) and 400 meters (54.26).
Sophomore
Nick Yacoub (Sharon, Mass.) finished in seventh place in the 10,000 meters in a time of 30:14.25, more than 25 seconds better than his previous season best. He was less than three seconds behind sixth-place Carter Bengtson of Amherst.
Babson was represented in the men's 4x400-meter relay by the team of sophomores
Dominic Smith (Aspen, Colo.) and
Noa Wong (Kaneohe, Hawaii), first-year
Cameron Mehallo (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) and sophomore
Jackson Adams (Norwell, Mass.). The quartet finished eighth with a season-best time of 3:18.66, which is the season-best and the third fastest time in program history.
Sophomore
Kate Henderson (Basking Ridge, N.J.) was the lone entry for the Babson women, competing in the javelin, and she finished 15th with a mark of 103-feet, 1-inch.
Day two of the Farley Inter Regional begins on Saturday with field events at 10 a.m. and track events at 12 p.m.
