MARLBOROUGH, Mass.—Ten members of the Babson College men's track and field program were honored for their hard work in the classroom when they were named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference team on Friday.
Juniors
Jonathan Hanscom (Hadley, Mass.),
Coleman Hayes (New York, N.Y.) and
Stratton Seymour (Merrimac, Mass.) earned Academic All-Conference accolades for the third time in their careers, and junior
Jack Gramer (Tyngsborough, Mass.) and sophomores
Patrick Allardi (Andover, Mass.),
Daniel Garcia (Miami, Fla.),
Timothy Kelm (Eliot, Maine),
Brian Ronayne (Reading, Mass.),
Dominic Smith (Aspen, Colo.) and
Noa Wong (Kaneohe, Hawaii) were honored for the first time.
Academic All-Conference honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale after the 2025 fall semester, achieved second-year academic status, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire semester.
Hanscom, a Finance major, competed in four outdoor meets this spring as a distance runner. He ran a career-best time of 32:39.40 to win the 10,000 meters at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic on March 27, and ran a career-best 16:11.91 in the 5000 meters to place seventh at the MIT Sean Collier Invitational on April 18. He also finished eighth in the 10K at the NEWMAC Championships on April 24 with a time of 33:06.16.
Hayes, a Finance major, competed in five meets this spring as a thrower for the Beavers with four top-10 finishes. He placed sixth in the shot put at the Coast Guard Invitational on April 4 with a mark of 43-feet, 1.5-inches; he took ninth in the shot at the Tufts Stampede on April 11 with a mark of 42-feet, 8.75-inches; he was fourth in the shot at the MIT Sean Collier Invitational on April 18 with a season-high throw of 44-feet, 10.25-inches; and placed eighth in the shot at the NEWMAC Championships on April 25 with a mark of 43-feet, 7.75-inches.
Gramer, a Business Administration major, appeared in four outdoor meets this spring. He ran the 1500 meters three times, with a season-best time of 4:33.65 at the Tufts Stampede on April 11, and he placed 12th in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the NEWMAC Championships on April 25 in a time of 11:48.00.
Allardi, an Accounting major, was limited to just one meet this spring competing in the 4x100-meter relay at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic on March 28. He finished eighth in the 110-meter hurdles at the 2025 NEWMAC Championships in a time of 15.47 seconds, and he ran his career-best time of 11.08 in the 100-meter dash at the MIT Sean Collier Invitational on April 19, 2025.
Garcia, a Finance and Accounting major, raced in four outdoor events for the Beavers this spring. He placed 10th in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:24.70 at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic on March 27; he ran a career-best time of 4:21.93 in the 1500 meters at the MIT Sean Collier Invitational on April 18; and he placed 11th in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the NEWMAC Championships on April 25 in a career-best time of 10:29.64.
Kelm, a Management/Finance major, competed in four outdoor events for the Beavers this spring. He placed seventh in the 100-meter dash at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Invitational on March 28 in a time of 11.38 seconds; he finished 11th in the 100 at the Coast Guard Invitational on April 4 in 11.17 seconds; and he ran a season-best time of 11.11 in the 100 to place 12th at the NEWMAC Championships on April 25.
Ronayne, an Accounting and Finance major, competed in five outdoor meets for the Beavers this season. He started his spring with a ninth place in the 1500 meters in a time of 4:13.61 at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Invitational on March 28; he placed fourth in the 1500 meters (4:06.15) and ninth in the 800 meters (2:00.58) at the Coast Guard Invitational on April 4; he ran season-best times of 1:58.40 in the 800 and 4:01.35 in the 1500 at the Tufts Stampede on April11; finished runner-up in the 1500 meters (4:02.54) at the MIT Sean Collier Invitational on April 18; and placed eighth in the 1500 (4:04.59) and 13th in the 800 (2:01.34) at the NEWMAC Championships on April 25.
Seymour, who is concentrating in accounting and strategic consulting, competed in the 400 hurdles at four meets and finished third in his first career decathlon at the NEWMAC Championships on April 24-25 and placed seventh in the decathlon at the Farley Inter Regional on May 8-9. He recorded career-best marks in six events at the conference meet and four events at the F.I.R.E meet, which included finishing first in both the 1500-meter run and the javelin.
Smith, who is concentrating in economics, took part in seven meets on the season recording a career-best time of 49.94 in the 400 meters at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 18 and a season-best time of 22.99 in the 200 meters at the NEWMAC Championships on April 25. He also earned all-region honors by helping the Beavers' 4x400-meter relay team come in third with a time of 3:19.38 at the Division III New England Championships on May 2.
Wong, a Finance major, ran in five outdoor meets for the Beavers this season. He made his season debut with a second-place finish in the 400 meters in a time of 50.91 seconds at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on March 21; he placed 10th in the 400 in 50.44 seconds at the MIT Sean Collier Invitational on April 18; he finished eighth in the 400 (50.32) and third in the 4x400 relay (3:20.16) at the NEWMAC Championships on April 25; and he ran a season-best 49.95 in the 400 to place 12th at the Division III New England Championships on May 2.
The Beavers finished in fourth place at the conference championships with 87 points, the second-most in program history.
