NEW ORLEANS— High jumper Skyler Mott M'27 (Mills Neck, N.Y.) and the Babson College men's track & field program were recognized for their hard work in the classroom by earning United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA announced its 2026 All-Academic Team accolades last week. 

Led by head coach Russ Brennen, the Beavers finished the spring semester with a 3.34 team grade-point average. Babson, which garnered USTFCCA All-Academic laurels for the ninth consecutive season, were among 170 Division III programs recognized. Teams must maintain a 3.10 GPA or better following the spring semester in order to qualify for the award.

In order to qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have compiled at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship, or finished the regular season ranked in the top-50 nationally in an individual event or in the top-35 in a relay event.

A business major, Mott enjoyed an outstanding season in his first year with the Beavers after transferring from Lehigh, highlighted by earning All-America second team honors with a 12th place finish in the high jump at the NCAA Division III Championships. He became the Babson's first NCAA Championships qualifier and NEWMAC champion in the high jump and ranked first in the East Region in the high jump (6-feet, 9.75-inches) and seventh in the triple jump (46-feet, 2.75-inches). He recorded both of his school record marks at the season-opening Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on March 21.

The Beavers finished in fourth place at the conference track & field championships with 87 points, the second-most in program history. Babson finished sixth at the NCAA East Regionals, matching the best finish in program history with their second lowest point total.
