SPRINGFIELD, Mass.— The Babson College women's track & field team registered four All-Region performances in three events, including three individuals and one relay, on day two of the New England Division III Championships on Saturday at the Blake Track on the campus of the Springfield College.
The Beaver women finished in a tie for 16th with Wheaton College with 18 points, two points back of Southern Maine and Gordon, who were tied for 14th. Connecticut College won the team title with 100 points, with MIT finishing second with 66.5 points and Tufts was third with 59.
Sophomore
Amrit Rehal (Alpharetta, Ga.) and first-year
Elaina Head (Kailua Kona, Hawaii) both earn All-Region honors in the high jump for the Beavers, with both clearing 5-feet, 3.75 inches. Rehal finished third overall after just one miss before she cleared 5-3.75 while Head placed fifth with two misses at both 5-1.75 and 5-3.75 before clearing her season-best 5-3.75.
Head also took fourth place in the triple jump with a mark of 37-feet, 1.25-inches, just six inches shy of her season best. Senior
Trista Sicard (Mansfield, Mass.) finished 10th in the event with a mark of 35-feet, 4-inches.
Babson's remaining All-Region honor came from the 4x100-meter relay team of junior
Reese Gallant (West Newbury, Mass.), sophomore
Victoria Hart (Greenwich, Conn.), senior
Robyn Wilkes (Atlanta, Ga.), and first-year
Marcilee Kinerman (Atlanta, Ga.) who earned a sixth-place finish in a time of 48.56 seconds.
The Green and White's 4x400-meter relay team of Kinerman, sophomore
Serena Thaker (South Windsor, Conn.), first-year
Reagan Myer (Berryville, Va.), and Head finished 10th in a time of 4:09.96.
Junior
Colleen Corman (Quaker Hill, Conn.) registered a season-best time of 1:06.50 to place 12th in the 400-meter hurdles, and Hart came in 18th in 1:07.54. Senior
Chloe Clifford (Marshfield, Mass.) finished 15th in the 800 meters in a season-best time of 2:19.90, and Myer was 16th in the 400 meters in a season-best time of 1:01.00.
Babson will send a contingent of athletes to the Farley Inter Regional next Friday and Saturday at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.
