NEW ORLEANS, La.—The Babson College women's track & field squad saw a program-record nine athletes receive United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-East Region honors on Wednesday afternoon.
The top-8 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Athletic.net Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams. The USTFCCCA has been awarding all-region awards since 2015-16.
Sophomore
Amrit Rehal (Alpharetta, Ga.) was a repeat all-region selection in the high jump, first-year
Elaina Head (Kailua Kona, Hawaii) garnered was recognized in the high jump, triple jump and 4x400-meter relay, and sophomore
Victoria Hart (Greenwich, Conn.) earned All-East Region laurels in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 4x100-meter relay. Senior
Robyn Wilkes (Atlanta, Ga.) junior
Reese Gallant (West Newbury, Mass.) and first-year
Marcilee Kinerman (Atlanta, Ga.) joined Hart in being honored for their success in the 4x100-meter relay, while senior
Brooke Jankowski (Derry, N.H.), sophomore
Serena Thaker (South Windsor, Conn.) and first-year
Reagan Myer (Berryville, Va.) received all-region recognition in the 4x400-meter relay.
Rehal became the first Babson high jumper to qualify for the NCAA Championships by clearing 5-feet, 6-inches at the Farley Inter Regional on May 9. She broke her own school record with the mark, which also finished the spring as the top result in the East Region.
Head added to her awards haul with all-region accolades in three events after being named NEWMAC Field Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year following the conference meet on April 24-25. She concluded the season ranked fourth in the region in the high jump (5-feet, 3.75-inches), seventh in the triple jump (37-feet, 7.75-inches) with a new school record on the way to finishing up as the runner-up at the conference meet.
Additionally, Head was crowned as the NEWMAC champion in the long jump and narrowly missed receiving all-region accolades in a fourth event with her school-record leap of 17-feet, 11.5-inches.
Hart posted a career-best time of 14.82, which ranks eighth in the East Region, in the 100-meter hurdles at the NEWMAC Championships on April 24 and teamed with Gallant, Wilkes and Kinerman to break the school record with a time of 48.24 in the 4x100-meter relay at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 17. The quartet, which owns the seventh fastest time in the region, also came in second in the event to earn all-conference accolades at the league meet a week later.
Jankowski, Myer, Thaker and Head finished the season with the seventh-ranked time (4:04.96) in the 4x400-meter relay, which they achieved at the Tufts Spring Stampede on April 10.
The Babson women, who scored their most points on the way to placing fifth at the NEWMAC Championships for the third time since 2021 back in April, will conclude the season on Friday when Rehal takes part in the high jump at the NCAA Championships beginning at 3 p.m.
