NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.—Babson College senior
Lilly Bedard (Jupiter, Fla.) and sophomore
Courtney Laden (Wilmette, Ill.) were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Berkshire Region second team late last week.
Bedard and Laden, who were among 256 players from eight different regions recognized by the IWLCA, both garnered All-Berkshire honors for the first time in their respective careers.
One of just two players to contribute a point in all 18 games, Bedard set new career highs with 36 goals and 37 assists for 73 points this spring. She produced three or more goals and five or more points seven times, had at lest one goal in 16 of 18 contests and dished out at least two assists on 13 occasions on the way to earning New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference first team laurels.
Bedard's 37 assists are the fourth highest single-season total in Babson history, and her 73 points are tied for 13th on the program's single-season list.
Bedard, who missed all but one game of her sophomore campaign due to injury, finished her career with 63 goals and 52 assists for 115 points in 47 contests.
An All-NEWMAC first-team selection, Laden had a terrific debut campaign for the Beavers finishing third on the team in scoring with 34 goals and 35 points while leading the squad with 62 draw controls and 24 caused turnovers in 18 starts. She also tied for second with 26 ground balls and collected two or more nine times during the season.
Laden, who finished with at least two caused turnovers in eight games including four straight to begin the season, flourished on offense late in the year producing multiple goals in eight of the Beavers' final 10 outings. She also became the first Babson player to finish with at least 30 goals, 30 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers since Claudia Dodge '23 back in 2023.
Babson concluded its season at 11-7 after falling to No. 24/15 MIT in the NEWMAC semifinals back on April 29.
