Aman Vantipalli (Alpharetta, Ga.) concluded his week at the NCAA Championship with a 2-under 70 that included an eagle and four birdies on the El Campeon Course at Mission Inn Resort and Club on Friday afternoon.
Vantipalli, who posted the program's lowest round in NCAA Championship competition on Friday, finished in a tie for 49th place at 7-over after shooting 70-75-79-70 over four days. He also is the first Babson competitor in program history to finish under par twice over four rounds in the national tournament.
Coming off his second highest score of the season in Thursday's third round, Vantipalli got off to a blistering start with birdies on Nos. 10 and 13, an eagle on the par 5 14th hole and another birdie at No. 15 to get to 5-under through six holes. He gave a shot back with a bogey at the par 4 16th but followed it up with another birdie on No. 18 to go out in 32.
Vantipalli made par on five of his first six holes on the front nine and was sitting at 4-under through 15 before consecutive bogeys on Nos. 7 and 8 to post a 2-under 70.
As a team, Babson made its first NCAA Championship appearance since 2022 and missed the 36-hole cut by just three strokes on Wednesday.
