NORMAN, Okla.—Four members of the Babson College men's golf program were recognized for their success on the course and in the classroom when the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced its 2026 Division III Cobalt All-America Scholars earlier this month. 

Recent graduate Colin Fowler '26 (Portland, Ore.) was recognized for the third year in a row, fellow graduate Shane Quinn '26 (Morristown, N.J.) and junior Jack Berry (Western Springs, Ill.) were both honored for the second time in their respective careers, and sophomore Chad Tordone (Barnstable, Mass.) garnered Cobalt GCAA All-America Scholar accolades for the first time. The Beavers' quartet were among more than 260 student-athletes from 95 schools to receive the prestigious distinction. 

To be eligible for the award, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically, must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, and have a stroke average under 79.0 while maintaining a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

In addition to the individual awards, the Beavers were one of 62 Division III programs to garner PLATFORM Golf All-Academic Team honors from the GCAA after concluding the 2024-25 year with a 3.40 grade-point average.

Fowler earned PING/GCAA All-Region I recognition for the first time in his career after posting a career-best 74.48 stroke average in 25 rounds as a senior. He registered top-10 finishes at the Williams Invitational last September and the Farmingdale State Invitational in April, and recorded five top-20 finishes in eight tournaments of at least 36 holes. 

Fowler, who finished under par four times during the 2025-26 campaign, improved his stroke average in each of his final three seasons and ranks 10th in Babson history at 75.58. 

A PING/GCAA All-America honorable mention and All-Region I selection, Quinn posted a career-best 74.00 stroke average over 17 rounds as a senior. He finished at or below par four times, owns two top-25 and four top-50 finishes in six events of at least 36 holes, and concluded the year ranked third in the region and 95th nationally in the Scoreboard Division III rankings.

Quinn recorded his low 54-hole score of 1-under to tie for 45th place at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational in late March and fired the low round of his career, a 3-under 68, at the Sam Snead Collegiate on April 14. One of 11 players in Babson history to earn All-America honors and a three-time all-region selection, Quinn ranks sixth all-time on the Beavers' career scoring list with a 74.82 average over 51 rounds. 

Berry put together a terrific season that included a career-best 74.28 stroke average on the way to earning PING/GCAA All-Region I honors for the second year in a row. He finished under-par a team-best seven times in 25 rounds, posted five top-30 finishes and earned medalist honors with a 36-hole score of 4-under 138 at the Duke Nelson Invitational last September. 

Berry, who finished the season 128th in the Scoreboard Division III rankings, has a 74.82 stroke average in 49 career rounds. 

Tordone, who did not see any action as a rookie in 2024-25, played in each of Babson's 25 rounds while posting a 76.12 scoring average this past season. He recorded three top-40 finishes, highlighted by a tie for 16th position at the 54-hole Williams Invitational last September, and carded the low round of his career, a 5-under 65, on the way to tying for 13th place at the 36-hole Farmingdale State Invitational on April 18-19. 

The Beavers, who qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship for the first time since 2022 back in May, were ranked 20th in the final Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.
