No. 22 Women's Golf at the Northeast Invitational

WHAT TO KNOW
• The 22nd-ranked Babson women's golf team will head to western Massachusetts to take part in the Northeast Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at The Ranch GC.
• The Beavers are among seven programs set to play 18 holes on both Saturday and Sunday on the 5,805-yard, par 72 layout, which is just south of the Berkshire Mountains.
ABOUT THE BEAVERS
• No. 22 Babson shot its lowest score of the spring (312) in the final round on the way to placing eighth at the Jack Leaman Invitational at The Orchards Golf Club last weekend.
• First-year
Vanya Bansal shot 75-74 to tie for fourth place with a 36-hole total of 5-over 149, while the trio of sophomores
Camila Amaya (85-78) and
Hannah McCarthy (81-82) and first-year
Katie Yang (80-83) finished in a tie for 40th position at 19-over for the Beavers, who posted a 36-hole total of 633.
• Bansal has finished under par once and leads the team with a 76.79 stroke average over 14 rounds, Yang (79.33) owns a pair of top-15 showings and McCarthy (79.50) has finished among the top 35 three times in six tournaments of at least 36 holes this season.
• Amaya has posted a score of 79 or better and owns an 80.56 stroke average for the season, while junior
Laura Lu tied for 20th at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational back in late March and has an 80.43 average over seven rounds this year.
BANSAL EARNS GWGC HONORS
• Thanks to a pair of strong rounds at the Jack Leaman Invitational, Bansal was selected as the Colonial Women's Golf Conference (CWGC) Golfer of the Week for the third time this season on Wednesday.
• She played her final eight holes of the opening round in 2-under and made three birdies and five bogeys on the way to recording her best score of the spring in Sunday's final round.
• Bansal, who earned medalist honors at the CWGC Championship back in late October, has posted three top-10 finishes in five stroke play events of at least 36 holes during the 2025-26 campaign.
RISING IN THE RANKINGS
• Thanks to its eighth-place finish at the Jack Leaman Invitational, which featured eight of the top 25 programs in the country, Babson jumped two spots to 21st in the latest Scoreboard Division III rankings released on Wednesday.
• Bansal moved up 27 spots and is now ranked 52nd among Division III players, while Lu (99th), Yang (105th) and McCarthy (159th) give the Beavers four players ranked among the top 160.
STRONG FIELD HEADS TO THE RANCH
• For the second consecutive weekend, Babson will compete against some of the top teams in the country as the Northeast Invitational field features No. 4 Williams, No. 5 Amherst, No. 12 Hamilton, No. 13 Middlebury, No. 15 Wellesley and No. 18 Bowdoin.
• Williams finished second behind second-ranked NYU at the Jack Leaman Invitational, while Amherst put both it's A and B squads in the top five along with Wellesley.
• The Beavers finished 18 shots clear of Bowdoin last weekend at The Orchards and were one shot behind seventh-place Hamilton, two behind sixth-place Middlebury and four in back of fifth-place Wellesley.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Babson's final round score of 312 at the Jack Leaman Invitational was its best since posting a 306 in the first round of the CWGC Championship back on October 27.
• The Beavers own a 314.00 team average this season and have finished with a score of 316 or better in nine of 14 rounds.
• The Green and White has had at least one player shoot 75 or better in seven of 14 rounds this year.
