No. 20 Men's Golf Travels to Bethpage State Park to Conclude 2025-26 Regular Season

WHAT TO KNOW

•    The 20th-ranked Babson men's golf team will travel to Long Island for a pair of events to conclude the 2025-26 regular season beginning on Thursday. 
•    The Beavers are among eight teams taking part in the Bethpage Black Invitational, an 18-hole event on the famed Black Course, which hosted the US Open in 2002 and 2009, the 2019 PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup last September. 
•    Babson will also take part in the Farmingdale State Invitational on the Red Course at Bethpage for the second year in a row on Saturday and Sunday. 

2025 FARMINGDALE STATE INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
•    Senior Colin Fowler shot 72-72 to tie for 13th place at 4-over 144 to help Babson place sixth at last year's Farmingdale State Invitational. 
•    Junior Jack Berry (72-73) and sophomore Aman Vantipalli (73-72) tied for 17th place with a 36-hole total of 5-over 145, and senior Tomas Amaya finished in a tie for 40th position at 9-over over after posting rounds of 72-77 for the Beavers, who shot 289-290 to come in 11 shots behind first-place Rensselaer at 19-over. 

ABOUT THE BEAVERS
•    No. 20 Babson continued its run of strong play by placing fourth in the Sam Snead Collegiate at the Gold Course at Golden Horseshoe GC in Williamsburg, Va., on Tuesday. 
•    Vantipalli shot 73-72-71 to tie for sixth place at 3-over, senior Shane Quinn closed with a 3-under 68 to move into a tie for 21st position at 8-over and sophomore Chad Tordone posted rounds of 75-73-76 to tie for 36th place for the Beavers, who closed with a final round score of 4-under 280 to conclude the tournament with a 54-hole total of 25-over 877. 
•    Vantipalli, who owns a pair of top-10 finishes and four top-25 results in seven starts, is first on the team with a 73.40 stroke average, Berry (73.90) has finished under par seven times on the year, which includes a 68 in the final round of the Sam Snead Collegiate, and Quinn (74.42) has shot 75 or better in eight of nine rounds this spring. 
•   Fowler has shot 73 or better in five of his last six rounds and is fourth on the team with a 74.70 stroke average, while Tordone (76.00) recorded his best finish of the spring at the Sam Snead Collegiate. 

ABOUT THE COURSES
•    The Black Course plays is a par 71 that plays to 7,468 yards from the tips and is one of the best and most difficult public courses in the U.S.
•    The Red Course is a 7,092-yard par-70 layout that opened in 1935. 

RISING IN THE RANKINGS
•    Babson, which re-entered the Bushnell Golfweek Division III poll back on March 27, has moved up from 33rd to 21st in the Scoreboard Division III rankings over the last weeks. 
•    In addition to rising in the team rankings, Vantipalli move up 24 spots to 82nd in the Division III individual rankings for the Beavers, who have Berry (90th), Quinn (125th) and Fowler (155th) ranked nationally and among the top 10 in Region I. 

PLENTY TO PLAY FOR
•    Thanks to shooting 285 or better in four of its last six rounds, Babson has played itself into contention for a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship. 
•    The Beavers, who are fighting for one of nine at-large bids to next month's Division III Tournament, enter their final three competitive rounds less than a point behind 16th-ranked Southwestern (Texas). 
•    The final at-large bid went to the team ranked 15th in in 2025 and the 17th-ranked squad in 2024. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers' final round score of 280 was their lowest since the second round of the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate back on April 9, 2022, and was tied for the second lowest in relation to par (4-under) during the 2025-26 campaign. 
•    Babson owns a 294.55 team scoring average this season and has been even better over its last six rounds posting a 288.00 average. 
•    Vantipalli boasts a 71.67 stroke average in six rounds over the last two tournaments, while Berry has finished under par three times in his last six rounds. 
•    Quinn, who fired a career-best 3-under 68 to close the Sam Snead Collegiate, has a 72.67 average in six rounds over the last two events.
