Berry and Quinn Shoot 68 in Final Round as No. 20 Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at the Sam Snead Collegiate

Quinn Posts Career-Best Round and Vantipalli Ties for Sixth Overall as Beavers Finish Strong in Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—Seniors Jack Berry (Western Springs, Ill.) and Shane Quinn (Morristown, N.J.) both close with rounds of 3-under 68 and the 20th-ranked Babson College men's golf team recorded the second lowest score of the day at 4-under on the way to finishing the 54-hole Sam Snead Collegiate in fourth place on Tuesday afternoon at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club.

The Beavers score of 280 was their lowest of the season and helped them finish the tournament with a score of 25-over 877. No. 2 Carnegie Mellon posted a 5-under 279 on Tuesday and was 2-over for the tournament to finish eight shots ahead of third-ranked Methodist. No. 13 Kenyon came in fourth at 20-over and No. 17 Lynchburg placed fifth at 33-over.

Quinn, who started on the fifth hole, made back-to-back birdies to begin the round but slipped back to even for the day on the 13th hole before closing out the back nine with five straight pars and birdies on Nos. 1, 2 and 3 to card the low round of his career. Tuesday's strong performance also helped him jump 34 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 21st position at 8-over.

After shooting 79 in both of Monday's rounds, Berry got off to a hot start with birdies on four of his first eight holes. He made his fifth birdie of the day on the second hole to get back to 4-under for the day before making a late bogey to tie for 52nd place with a 54-hole score of 13-over 226.

Sophomore Aman Vantipalli (Alpharetta, Ga.) wrapped up a terrific tournament by shooting an even-par 71 to move into a tie for sixth place at 3-over 216. He made his only birdie of the day on the par-4 11th hole later eagled his penultimate hole to get back to level.

Senior Colin Fowler (Portland, Ore.), who shot a second round 72 on Monday, started his day with consecutive birdies and made his third of the day on the final hole to post a 2-over 73 that left him in a tie for 66th position at 16-over for the tournament. Sophomore Chad Tordone (Barnstable, Mass.) also made three birdies in his final round and finished in a tie for 36th overall with a 54-hole total of 11-over 224.
