Rehal Wins High Jump to Lead Women’s Track & Field at Saturday’s Tufts Spring Invitational

MEDFORD, Mass.— Sophomore Amrit Rehal (Alpharetta, Ga.) captured first place in the high jump as the Babson College women's track & field team registered five top-six finishes on day two of the Tufts Spring Invitational Saturday at the Ellis Oval/Zimman Field/Dussault Track.

Rehal took first with a leap of 5-feet, 3.75-inches and was followed by first-year Elaina Head (Kailua Kona, Hawaii) in third place with a mark of 5-feet, 2.25-inches. Senior Brooke Jankowski (Derry, N.H.) also represented the Beavers well in the event, clearing a career-high 5-feet, 0.25-inches which is a New England regional provisional qualifying mark.

Sophomore Victoria Hart (Greenwich, Conn.) brought home a second-place finish for the Beavers in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 15.73 seconds. Jankowski came in 12th in 16.73 seconds and senior Julia Pike (Mansfield, Mass.) was 18th in 18.00.

Babson had a strong showing in the 4x400-meter relay, as the team of Jankowski, first-year Reagan Myer (Berryville, Va.), sophomore Serena Thaker (South Windsor, Conn.) and Head finished third in a season-best time of 4:04.96. First-year Marcilee Kinerman (Atlanta, Ga.) posted a pair of top-10 finishes for the Beavers. She took seventh place in the 200 meters in a season-best 25.92 seconds and finished eighth in the 100 meters in 12.64 seconds. Other top-12 sprinters for the Beavers included Myer placing 10th in the 200 meters in a season-best time of 26.38 seconds, junior Reese Gallant (West Newbury, Mass.) finishing 11th in the 100 in a season-best 12.70, and senior Robyn Wilkes (Atlanta, Ga.) finishing 12th in the 100 in a time of 12.71.

The Beavers were well-represented in the 800 meters as senior Chloe Clifford (Marshfield, Mass.) finished ninth in a time of 2:24.86, sophomore Sophia Draxler (Chester, N.J.) placed 12th in a season-best 2:28.20, and first-year Angelina Widmer (Wantagh, N.Y.) was 13th in a season-best 2:29.89.
