MEDFORD, Mass.— Graduate student
Diego Sanabria (San Juan, Puerto Rico) broke the program record in the men's javelin as the Babson College men's track & field team competed in six events on day one of the Tufts Spring Invitational Friday at the Ellis Oval/Zimman Field/Dussault Track.
Sanabria unleashed a throw of 183-feet even on his final attempt to place first among the 15 competitors. He broke the previous program record of 178-feet, 4-inches set by Nicolas Kube at the 2024 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championships. Sanabria's mark ranks him 42nd in Division III this spring.
Sophomore
Nick Yacoub (Sharon, Mass.) brought home an impressive performance in the 5000 meters, finishing third in a time of 14:52.54. It was his first 5K on the track this spring and his time is the eighth-fastest in program history. Junior
Brian Gall (Norwalk, Conn.) was the next Beaver finisher in the 5000, placing 21st in a time of 15:35.81, followed by junior
Almond Nickerson IV (Darien, Conn.) in 37th in a time of 16:00.46, first-year
Arthur Boulot (Geneva, Switzerland) in 39th in a season-best 16:02.72 and classmate
Connor Andrews (Wrightsville Beach, N.C.) was 43rd in 16:16.67.
Junior
Jonathan Hanscom (Hadley, Mass.) placed second out of just four runners in the 10,000 meters, competing the race in 33:02.61, more than a minute behind Keene State sophomore Ben Tetu (32:01.03) and more than three minutes ahead of the nearest competitor.
Sophomore
Brian Ronayne (Reading, Mass.) was the first of three Babson runners in the 1500 meters, finishing 13th in a season-best time of 4:01.35. Junior
Ethan Jina (Carlisle, Mass.) was 36th in a season-best 4:17.28 and classmate
Jack Gramer (Tyngsborough, Mass.) was 43rd in a season-best 4:33.65. Sophomore
Daniel Garcia (Miami, Fla.) placed 18th in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 10:30.74.

Nick Elward (Ipswich, Mass.) took 19th with a mark of 121-feet, 3-inches, senior
Joseph Addotta (Ridgefield, Conn.) was 20th with a mark of 119-feet, 11-inches, and junior
Coleman Hayes (New York, N.Y.) was 32nd with a mark of 94-feet, 11-inches.
The Beavers will compete on day two at the Tufts Spring Invitational on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.
