No. 17 Women's Lacrosse Resumes NEWMAC Action at Emerson on Wednesday

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 9-1 all-time against Emerson in a series that dates back to 2014.
• The Green and White have won all nine games since Emerson's only win, an 8-5 verdict on April 19, 2014 in Babson Park.
• The last six wins have had a margin of victory of at least 13 goals.

LAST MEETING
Ellie Hilsabeck '25 scored a season-high five goals and 14 players got into the scoring act as No. 14/19 Babson overpowered Emerson, 27-6, on March 29, 2025 at MacDowell Field.
Kathryn Blake '25 finished with three goals and three assists, Nora Lema '25 contributed two goals and three assists, and Clare Connolly '25 and Mia Fierro added three goals each. Jessica Evans '25 had two goals and two assists, Michaela Downer '25 chipped in with a goal and two assists, and Solana Fahey '25 scored twice in the victory. Connolly continued to dominate the draws, finishing with 20 draw controls.
• Sophomore Laina Gustafson led the Lions with two goals and an assist and Callie Krosin '25 tallied one goal and one assist. Gustafson added three draw controls, a caused turnover and a ground ball and sophomore Adele Eaton contributed two draw controls, a caused turnover and a ground ball in the loss.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (5-3, 2-1 NEWMAC), ranked 17th by USA Lacrosse Magazine, is looking to bounce back after an 18-3 setback to top-ranked Middlebury on Sunday.
• First-years Jenna WongMargaux Boneu and Hailey Murray each scored a goal for the Beavers and senior Lilly Bedard had an assist against Middlebury. First-year Allie Collins collected a game-high four draw controls, Wong had a team-high two shots on goal, and junior Morgan McGahan and first-year Francesca Tamburini combined for seven saves in the Beaver goal in the setback.
• Bedard (15-17-29) leads the team in scoring and is ranked fifth in the NEWMAC in assists, and Wong (16-2-18) leads the team in goals. Junior Jen Austin (6-7-13) is second on the team in assists and Murray (11-0-11) is third on the team in goals. Laden (27) and Collins (14) lead the team in draw controls, and Laden (15 CT, 16 GB) and junior Claire Jones (10 CT, 12 GB) are among the league leaders in caused turnovers.
• McGahan (8.64 GAA, .394 sv. pct., 37 saves) has started all eight games in goal for the Beavers and is second in the NEWMAC in goals against average.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
• Emerson (4-6, 0-3 NEWMAC) has dropped its last six games, including a 19-8 conference defeat at the hands of Coast Guard last Wednesday.
• Junior Ava DelliCompagni tallied five points with three goals and two assists and Gustafson scored three goals for the Lions. DelliCompagni (7), Gustafson (4) and senior Holland Rutter (4) combined for 15 draw controls, senior Samantha Bowen forced three turnovers, and Rutter contributed three ground balls. Seniors Lindsey Wettstein and Ellie Spotts combined for three saves in goal in the setback.
• DelliCompagni (30-24-54) is among the NEWMAC leaders in goals, assists and points, Gustafson (32-4-36) is tied for fourth in goals, and sophomore Laura Lovell (21-10-31) give the Lions three players with at least 30 points. DelliCompagni leads the team with 57 draw controls and 14 caused turnovers, Gustafson is in the top three on the team with 25 draw controls, 12 caused turnovers and 21 ground balls.
• Spotts (14.03 GAA, .416 sv. pct.) has 87 saves in 10 games in the crease for the Lions.

BEDARD AND LADEN SWEEP NEWMAC WEEKLY AWARDS
• Bedard and Laden were recognized by the NEWMAC on Monday as the conference's Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week, respectively.
• Bedard produced seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in two games while Laden finished the week with 10 draw controls, five ground balls and three caused turnovers as Babson went 2-1 with a pair of league wins last week.

AN EARLY LOOK
• There's a two-way tie atop the NEWMAC standings in the early going with MIT and Coast Guard both sporting 4-0 conference records.
• Smith is alone in third place at 3-1 and Babson is fourth at 2-1, while Wheaton and Salve Regina are in the middle of the pack at 2-2.

SUCCESS IN THE NEWMAC 
• Babson has won 29 of its last 30 NEWMAC regular season games going back to 2023 and is 38-3 in regular season conference games dating back to 2022.
• The Beavers have finished in the top two in the NEWMAC regular season race in the last eight full seasons going back to 2016.

ROOKIE CLASS 
• The first-year class for the Beavers has made a strong impact on this year's team, with seven rookies seeing action in at least six games and six starting at least two contests.
• Five first-years (Wong, Murray, Rooney, Boneu, and Schiller) have combined to score 39 goals and tally 41 points.
• Six first-years (Collins, Burtch, Rooney, Wong, Grahn, and Murray) have totaled 29 draw controls, 22 caused turnovers and 33 ground balls.

CONSISTENT PLAY 
• Bedard has at least one point in all eight games this season and at least three points in six of the eight.
• Wong has scored at least one goal in seven of her eight games this spring and has multi-point performances in four of the eight.
• Laden has collected at least one ground ball and one draw control against all eight opponents this spring, and one caused turnover against six of the eight.

BEAVER BITES
• Babson has scooped up more ground balls than the opponents in six of eight outings this spring.
• The Green and White have outshot their opponents this season by a 203-162 count, including 148-116 in shots on goal.
• The Beaver defense is allowing just 8.50 goals per game, which ranks third in the NEWMAC.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 5-0 this season and 30-2 going back to 2024 when winning more draws than its opponents.
• The Green and White are 3-0 this spring and have gone 31-0 over the past three seasons when leading at halftime.
• Babson is 18-0 since last season and 44-1 over the last four seasons when scoring at least 12 goals.
