Track & Field to Compete at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic on Saturday

WHAT TO KNOW
• After opening the season last weekend at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C., the Babson men's & women's track teams will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs Classic this Saturday in Dartmouth, Mass.

SCOUTING THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers are coming off a solid 17th-place finish out of 35 teams at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, posting a meet and facility record on the track and a pair of program records in field events.
• Sophomore Nick Yacoub broke the track and meet records in winning the 10,000 meters with a time of 30:39.52, which was also his new personal best and ranks as the fifth fastest time in program history. 
• Graduate student Skyler Mott set a pair of programs records in his Babson debut. He took fourth place in the high jump with a program-record leap of 6-feet, 9-75 inches, and placed 12th in the triple jump with a program-record mark of 46-feet, 2.75-inches.
• Sophomore Aithan Bezanson set a new personal best in the shot put with a mark of 40-feet, 3-2.25 inches and matched the school record set back in 2018 by clearing 6-feet, 3.25-inches in the high jump on the way to a runner-up finish as part of the decathlon. He also placed second in the decathlon discus with a mark of 110-feet, 7-inches, but had to drop out after seven events.
• Babson had three competitors in the 400-meter hurdles, with sophomore Jackson Adams finishing 12th in a time of 56.19, first-year Cameron Mehallo crossing the line in 17th in 57.03, and classmate Brady Kirtland coming in 20th in 57.26.

SCOUTING THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers set one program record on the way to finishing 23rd overall among 34 teams at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational last weekend.
• The Babson quarter of junior Reese Gallant, sophomore Victoria Hart, senior Robyn Wilkes, and first-year Marcilee Kinerman finished 13th in the 4x100 relay in a program-record time of 48.95 seconds.
• Senior Alexandra Kirkpatrick had a strong performance in the 10,000 meters posting a time of 42:08.39 to finish fourth overall.
• The Beavers had two top-8 finishers in the high jump as sophomore Amrit Rehal placed sixth with a mark of 5-feet, 4.25 inches, and first-year Elaina Head finished eighth with a jump of 5-feet, 2.25 inches.
• Hart and senior Brooke Jankowski were top-20 finishers in the 100-meter hurdles, Hart finishing 18th with a time of 15.53 seconds and Jankowski 20th in 15.64 seconds. 

PROGRAM RECORDS
• Mott's new program standard in the high jump of 6-feet, 9-75 inches bettered the mark of 6-3.25 by Sean Rezendes '20 at the NCAA Championships in 2018, and his program record in the triple jump (46-feet, 2.75-inches) surpassed the mark of 45-2.25 by Cezary Bialon '16 at the 2015 NEWMAC Championships.
• The new women's record in the 4x100-meter relay bettered the mark of 49:25 set in 2023 by Caroline Reilly '23, Jankowski, Wilkes, and Angela Hagstrom '25.

MEN'S EAST REGION LEADERS
• The Babson men have nine individual performances that rank in the top 10 in the east region.
• Mott is first in the region in both the high jump (6-feet, 9.75-inches) and triple jump (46-feet, 2.75-inches). Bezanson is third in the high jump (6-feet, 3.25-inches), and grad student Diego Sanabria is third in the javelin (175-feet, 0-inches).
• On the track, Yacoub is first in the 10,000 meters (39:39.52); Mehallo is fifth in the 400 meters (50.46) and seventh in the 400-meter hurdles (57.03); Adams is sixth (56.19) in the 400-meter hurdles; Kirtland is seventh in the 100-meter hurdles and ninth (57.26) in the 400-meter hurdles (56.19); and sophomore Noa Wong is sixth in the 400 meters (50.91) and ninth in the 200 meters (23.01).

WOMEN'S EAST REGION LEADERS
• The Babson women have nine individual performances that rank in the top 10 in the east region.
• Rehal is first in the region in the high jump (5-feet, 4.25-inches), Head is second in the high jump (5-feet, 2.25-inches) and third in the triple jump (35-feet, 5.25-inches), and Sicard is fourth in the triple jump (35-feet, 5-inches).
• On the track, the Beavers' 4x100 meter relay is second in the East (48.95 seconds); Corman (1:06.57) and Hart (1:07.68) are third and seventh respectively in the 400-meter hurdles; and Hart (15.53), Jankowski (15.64) and Pike (16.45) are third, fourth and 10th respectively in the 100-meter hurdles. Kinerman (12.48), Gallant (12.72) and Wilkes (12.88) are fourth, seventh and eighth in the 100 meters, and Kirkpatrick is sixth in the 10,000 meters (42:08.39).

UP NEXT
• The Beavers will start the month of April off by traveling to New London, Connecticut for the annual Coast Guard Invitational on April 4.
