MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.— Graduate student
Skyler Mott (Mills Neck, N.Y.) set a pair of programs records in his debut for the Babson College men's track & field team on day two at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on Saturday afternoon inside Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
The Beavers finished in a tie for 17th place out of 35 schools with Brewton-Parker (Ga.) with 16 points apiece. UConn finished first in the team scoring with 133 points while Lock Haven was second with 77 points and Voorhees (S.C.) was third with 70.
A grad transfer from Lehigh, Mott took fourth place in the high jump with a program leap of 6-feet, 9-75 inches, bettering the mark of 6-3.25 by Sean Rezendes '20 at the NCAA Championships in 2018. He also placed 12th in the triple jump with a program-record mark of 46-feet, 2.75-inches, surpassing the mark of 45-2.25 by Cezary Bialon '16 at the 2015 NEWMAC Championships.
Babson had three competitors in the 400-meter hurdles, with sophomore
Jackson Adams (Norwell, Mass.) finishing 12th in a time of 56.19, first-year
Cameron Mehallo (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) crossing the line in 17th in a time of 57.03, and classmate
Brady Kirtland (San Diego) coming in 20th in a time of 57.26. Also competing for the Beavers was sophomore
Noa Wong (Kaneohe, Hawaii), who finished 67th in a time of 23.01 seconds in teh 200 meters.
The Beavers are back in action at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic on Saturday, March 28.
