Mehallo, Wong Pace Men’s Track & Field at Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.— First-year Cameron Mehallo (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) and sophomore Noa Wong (Kaneohe, Hawaii) and produced a 1-2 finish in the 400 meters to pace the Babson College men's track & field team on day two at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on Friday afternoon inside Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

The Beavers sit in a tie for ninth place out of 34 schools with Shenandoah and Morgan State with 10 points apiece. UConn leads the field with 113.5 points and Lock Haven and Mount Olive are tied for second with 21.

Mehallo made his collegiate debut with a first-place finish among the 42 runners in a time of personal-best time of 50.46 seconds, while Wong crossed the line in second place in a time of 50.91 seconds.

First-year Brady Kirtland (San Diego) also made his collegiate debut for the Beavers in the 110-meter high hurdles and finished 23rd in a time of 15.65 seconds.

Sophomore Aithan Bezanson (Danvers, Mass.), who entered day two of the decathlon in fourth place with a score of 3,316 through five events, finished fourth in the 110-hurdles in a time of 16.09 seconds and placed second in the discus with a mark of 110-feet, 7-inches, but had to drop out after seven events.

The event concludes on Saturday as the field events get underway at 9 a.m., while the track events are set to start at 10 a.m.
