MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—Sophomore
Victoria Hart (Greenwich, Conn.) and senior
Brooke Jankowski (Derry, N.H.) were top-20 finishers in the 100-meter hurdles to lead the Babson College women's track & field team on Friday at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational inside Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
The Beavers are tied for 18th place with Bloomsburg and Rio Grande (Ohio) among 30 schools with five points. Coastal Carolina leads the team standings with 38 points, followed by Lock Haven with 28 and UConn with 24.
Hart finished in 18th place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.53 seconds and Jankowski placed 20th in a time of 15.64 seconds. They were two of the four Beavers to compete in the 100 hurdles as junior
Julia Pike (Mansfield, Mass.) finished 28th in a time of 16.45 and first-year
Madeline Thai (Bangor, Maine) made her collegiate debut in 32nd place in a time of 16.85.
The Beavers had three entries in the 100-meter dash. First-year
Marcilee Kinerman (Atlanta, Ga) made her collegiate debut with a 36th place in a time of 12.47 seconds, junior
Reese Gallant (West Newbury, Mass.) placed 54th in a personal-best time of 27.72 seconds, and senior
Robyn Wilkes (Atlanta, Ga.) was 63rd in 12.88.
A pair of athletes represented Babson in the long jump. First-year
Emma Hsu (Tenafly, N.J.) placed 41st with a mark of 16-feet, 5-inches in her first collegiate appearance, and senior
Trista Sicard (Mansfield, Mass.) was one place back with a mark of 15-feet, 11.25 inches.
The event concludes on Saturday as the field events get underway at 9:30 a.m., while the track events are set to start at 10 a.m.
