MARLBOROUGH, Mass.— For the second time this season, Babson College senior Matia Cristiani (San Salvador, El Salvador) and first-year Sandra Sikharulidze (Kyiv, Ukraine) captured both weekly honors from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on Monday afternoon as Cristiani earned her second Singles Player of the Week award and the duo of Cristiani and Sikharulidze was named Doubles Team of the Week.

Cristiani recorded the 100th singles victory of her career to become the program's all-time leader in No. 9 Babson's 4-2 loss to No. 2 Wash U. on Sunday. The top-ranked singles player in Division III, Cristiani recorded a 7-6, 6-3 victory over eighth-ranked Eliana Hanna to improve to 20-0 on the season.
 
The program leader in singles, doubles and overall wins, Cristiani upped her career marks to 100-4 in singles, 102-11 in doubles, and 202-15 overall.
 
Cristiani and Sikharulidze continued their success by claiming a battle of top-10 doubles pairings on Sunday. Babson's number one duo defeated seventh-ranked Eleanor Archer and Caitlin Bui of Wash U, 6-2, in the ninth-ranked Beavers' 4-2 loss to the second-ranked Bears.
 
The ninth-ranked doubles team in Division III, Cristiani and Sikharulidze improved their record to 19-2 on the season, including 3-0 in dual matches. The Babson duo, which started the season with 11 straight victories, captured the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) New England doubles title back in September and advanced to the ITA Cup quarterfinals in October.
 
The Beavers (4-1, 1-0 NEWMAC) will play a pair of nationally-ranked teams this week against No. 4 Wesleyan on Tuesday and No. 13 Johns Hopkins on Wednesday during their spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C.
