Men's Lacrosse's Burns Named to NEILA Team of the Week

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass.—Babson College graduate student Beau Burns (Washington, D.C.) was one of six players named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division III Team of the Week on Tuesday.

Burns, who is the third Babson player recognized with NEILA Team of the Week honors this season, was joined on this week's squad by Dan Naglieri of Salve Regina, Tommy Tyksinski of Endicott, Salem State's Landon Rice, James Boldy of UMass Boston and Bryce Crowell of Maine Maritime. Players are selected by the NEILA Executive Board.

Burns won 16-of-19 face-offs and matched his career high by picking up 10 ground balls to help the Beavers defeat Western New England, 19-8, last Saturday. He did much of his work in the first half winning 11-of-12 face-offs, including each of his last eight, while collecting nine ground balls as the Beavers built an 11-3 lead at the break.

Burns, who also earned NEWMAC Face-off Specialist of the Week accolades, has won 34 of his 51 face-offs this spring for a 66.7 percentage, which leads the conference and ranks 37th in Division III. He has also scooped up a team-high 22 ground balls, and his 5.50 ground balls per game rank fourth in the league.

No. 8 USILA/No. 6 USA Lacrosse Babson (4-0) is back on action on Wednesday when it travels to No. 17/14 Amherst at 6 p.m.
