BABSON PARK, Mass.— Senior
Braden Reilly (Reading, Mass) finished with a pair of goals and three assists to lead seven players who scored two goals and 17 players who had at least a goal or an assist as No. 9/8 Babson College cruised past Western New England University, 19-8, in non-conference men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at MacDowell Field.
Babson (4-0), ranked ninth in Division III by the US Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) and eighth by USA Lacrosse Magazine, won its fourth straight game to start the season while Western New England lost its second in a row to drop to 1-3 on the season.

Reid Vandenberg (Park City, Utah) and
Nick Marsh (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) all scored their first career goals for the Beavers. Sophomore
Andrew Almquist (Wakefield, Mass.) made eight saves in goal in the win.
Senior Thomas Labbe (Brunswick, Maine) led the Golden Bears with two goals and three assists, while classmate Jacob Roy (Brookline, N.H.) scored twice and added an assist. Senior Chris Catuosco (Commack, N.Y.) won 10 of 25 fac-offs and scooped up six ground balls in the loss.
Reilly set up Allen for a man-up goal to open the scoring less than two minutes in and Smith followed with his first of the game as the Beavers took an early lead. First-year Logan Proctor (Lake Tapps, Wash.) put the visitors on the board before Allen potted his second of the game and team-leading 10th of the season for the hosts. Roy fired one in for WNE with 5:49 to go in the opening frame to cut the Babson lead to 3-2, but the Beavers got three straight goals from Stillwell, Rooney and McAleavey to close out the first quarter with a 6-2 advantage.
Labbe scored his first of the game for the Golden Bears to open the second stanza, but Babson rattled off five unanswered goals in the last nine minutes of the frame. Reilly had two goals and two assists in a stretch of four straight goals in the rally, and Matthews, sophomore
Chase Wightman (Little Compton, R.I.) and Rooney scored in the string as Babson took an 11-3 margin in the intermission.
Matthews and junior defenseman David Noel (Hampden, Mass.) traded goals to open the third quarter before Babson scored five of the next six goals as the lead grew to 17-5 by the end of the frame. Stillwell, Smith and MCAleavey were joined by Vandenberg and Marsh in the scoring parade for the Beavers, broken up only by a marker by senior Max Rudgers (Brunswick, Maine) by the visitors.
Reserves flooded the field for the Beavers in the fourth quarter, leading to goals by Ahn and senior
Tommy French (Rumson, N.J.). Labbe, Roy and senior Josh Gagnon (Dracut, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Golden Bears.
Babson was successful on 27-of-28 clear attempts, won the ground ball battle 39-24, and the face-offs, 18-13. The Beavers were 2-for-2 in extra-man opportunities while holding WNE scoreless in three chances.
Babson will travel to No. 16/12 Amherst for a non-conference contest on Wednesday at 6 p.m. WNE plays again on Tuesday against Widener at 7 p.m. in St. Leo, Fla.

• Babson has defeated the Golden Bears in four straight years and is 16-14 all-time against Western New England in a series that dates back to 1987.
