WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H.—First-year
Nico Leunig (Evergreen, Colo.) capped a dominating season with his seventh consecutive first-place finish as the Babson College men's alpine ski team wrapped up a perfect regular season by winning the giant slalom at Waterville Valley on Sunday.
The Beavers finished atop the podium in all 10 races for the second consecutive season and have now won 20 straight MacConnell Division competitions over the last two winters.
Leunig posted a two-run time of 2:02.63 to capture his eighth victory of the year. He won all five GS races and became Babson's first MacConnell Division Skier of the Year since MacIntryre Henderson '20 in 2019 and the first in program history to earn league rookie of the year honors.
Senior
Elliot Perretta (Annecy, France) landed on the podium for the ninth time in 10 races and recorded his fourth runner-up finish with a time of 2:04.13. Sophomore
James Rosenbloom (Stowe, Vt.) placed fourth with a time of 2:04.54, first-year
Ben Hostetter (East Burke, Vt.) came in sixth in a time of 2:06.65 and sophomore
Connor Roy (Wellesley, Mass.) took seventh with a time of 2:08.78.
First-year
Asher Baron (South Londonderry, Vt.) finished 10th with a time of 2:08.78, while classmate
Nick Heinrich (Osterville, Mass.) was just 0.36 seconds behind him in 13th place. Sophomore
Jett Sheppard (Park City, Utah) posted a two-run time of 2:10.71 to come in 17th.
The Beavers will return to action next Saturday and Sunday when they travel to Sugarloaf for the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships.
