No. 19/14 Women's Lacrosse to Host Framingham State in Home Opener on Saturday at MacDowell Field

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson and Framingham State will meet for the fifth consecutive season in a series that dates back to 2022.
• The Beavers are 4-0 all-time against the Rams and won both games in Babson Park. 
• The Green and White have won all four of the previous games by at least seven goals.

LAST MEETING
Clare Connolly '25 finished with team-highs of six goals and 19 draw controls, and 10 different players scored at least one goal as No. 14/16 Babson produced a 20-7 victory over Framingham State on April 11, 2025 at FSU's Maple Street Field.
Kathryn Blake '25 tallied two goals and three assists and Amelia Novitch '25 added two goals and two helpers for the Beavers. Senior Lilly Bedard contributed two goals and an assist and Cameron Rabenold '25 and Nora Lema '25 added a pair of goals apiece. Sophomore Alivia Downer caused three turnovers, and Kathleen Murphy '25 and junior Morgan McGahan both made two saves between the pipes.
• Leah Green '25 (5g) and Hailey Baker '25 (1g, 4a) led the Rams with five points apiece. Baker also caused three turnovers and scooped up three ground balls, and senior Bella DiMare and sophomore Allie Wurms each made five saves in 30 minutes in the setback.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (1-0), ranked 19th by the IWLCA and 14th by USA Lacrosse Magazine, opened the season last Saturday with a 9-7 victory over St. Lawrence in West Palm Beach, Fla.
• First-year Jenna Wong scored three times and McGahan made eight saves for the Beavers. Graduate students Bella Kehoe and Livy Kehoe both finished with two goals and one assist, Bedard provided a goal and two assists, and junior Jen Austin added a pair of helpers. Sophomore Courtney Laden led all players with five caused turnovers, classmate Mackenzie Cassler forced three turnovers and first-year Allie Collins recorded a game-high five draw controls in the win. 
• Bedard is the top returning attacker for the Green and White after recording 20 points on 11 goals and nine assists last year, and junior Mia Fierro tallied nine goals and three assists for 12 points.
• Juniors Claire Jones and Lyndsey Newsome are returning All-Conference defenders for the Beavers that along with sophomore Charleigh Newman led the conference with 8.96 goals allowed per game.

SCOUTING THE RAMS
• Framingham State (0-0), which is making its season debut, is coming off a 2025 season that ended with a 10-9 overall record, a 4-2 mark in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), and a 13-11 loss at Worcester State in the MASCAC Tournament final.
• Junior Alessia Lye is the top returning scorer after tallying 10 goals and 28 assists for 38 points last year. Sophomore Madeline Bosma scored 25 goals, classmate Emma Kendzulak finished with 18 goals and three assists for 21 points, and senior Kelley DeBellis contributed 17 goals and three assists for 20 points.
• DeBellis also had 40 draw controls and 17 ground balls and Kendzulak recorded 35 draw controls and 13 ground balls. DeBellis and junior Lindsey Cox both caused 14 turnovers and Cox scooped up 26 ground balls.
• DiMare started all 19 games in goal for the Rams and posted a 12.47 goals against average with a 44.4 save percentage, and Wurms (7.51 GAA, 47.9 sv pct) made 11 appearances off the bench.

SUCCESS ON MACDOWELL
• The Beavers finished 6-1 at MacDowell Field last season and are 15-2 over the past two campaigns and 20-6 since the beginning of the 2023 season.
• Babson outscored its opponents 116-69 at home last spring and scored at least 14 goals in six of the seven outings.

POLL POSITION
• The three-time defending regular season champion Beavers received three of the 11 first-place votes and finished second in this year's NEWMAC preseason coaches' poll.
• Defending tournament champion MIT finished first with eight first-place votes. Springfield was third in the poll, and Coast Guard and Smith rounded out the top five.
• Framingham State was picked to finish second behind defending champion Worcester State in the MASCAC preseason poll.

BEAVER BITES
• Bedard has produced six multi-point games for the Beavers since the beginning of last season.
• First-year Allie Collins collected in a team-high five draw controls along with one caused turnover and one ground ball in her collegiate debut last Saturday.
• McGahan made two saves and collected five ground balls in her first career start between the pipes for the Green and White.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers have won their last 39 games over the past three seasons when holding their opponents to 10 goals or fewer.
• Babson was 15-0 last season and is 41-1 over the last three seasons when scoring at least 15 goals.
• The Green and White have gone 28-0 over the past two seasons when leading at halftime.
• Babson is 13-1 since last spring and 26-2 going back to 2024 when winning more draws than its opponents.

• The Beavers will be home again against Skidmore on Tuesday, March 10, at 4 p.m.
