CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine—Senior
Elliott Perretta (Annecy, France) came in third and three Babson College competitors finished among the top five on the way to winning the giant slalom at the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships on Saturday at Sugarloaf Mountain.
The Beavers finished nearly nine seconds ahead of second-place Clarkson, while Maine-Farmington and UConn placed third and fourth, respectively. Babson has now finished first in each of its 11 races this winter and is seeking a third consecutive regional title.
Perretta recorded the third fastest time on both runs to post a time of 1:41.02, while sophomore
James Rosenbloom (Stowe, Vt.) came in fourth with a time of 1:41.57. First-year
Ben Hostetter (Osterville, Mass.) registered the fastest time among 65 skiers on his second run (50.95) to move up seven spots into fifth with a time combined time of 1:42.23.

Asher Baron (South Londonderry, Vt.) came in 21st with a time of 1:47.64, while classmate
Nico Leunig (Evergreen, Colo.), who won the final seven MacConnell Division races, was 22nd following his first run but did not start his second run.
