SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 34-7 all-time against Emerson in a series that dates back to the 1951-52 campaign.
• The Beavers have won five of the last seven meetings against the Lions going back to late January 2023.
• Seven of the last eight matchups have been won by the home team with the lone road victory coming by Babson when it defeated Emerson, 69-64, in the 2023 NEWMAC Tournament semifinals.
• Each of the last three games between the Beavers and Lions inside Brown & Plofker Gymnasium have been decided by five points or less.

Thomas Ferdinando all finished with 11 points to help the Beavers defeat Emerson, 61-52, back on January 17 in Babson Park.

Tyler Lauder combined for 10 points as Babson scored on 10 of its final 11 possessions of the game following a field-goal drought of nearly 13 minutes after building a 13-point lead late in the first half.
• Shay Roban knocked down four three-pointers and scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half for the Lions, who tied the game at 37 with just under seven minutes remaining after trailing 32-21 at halftime.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (15-6, 9-3 NEWMAC) has won three straight and nine of its last 10 games after earning a hard-fought 71-56 victory over Springfield on Saturday afternoon.
• Ferdinando scored 16 of his team-high 21 points in the second half, Muvley added 14 points and Lauder finished with 11 points and six boards for the Beavers, who scored 22 second-chance points and 20 points off turnovers while pulling away with a second-half 22-7 run.
• Ferdinando (16.0 pts, 3.6 reb, 2.5 ast) ranks fifth in the league in scoring and his hit double figures in 12 straight games, Mulvey (15.2 pts, 2.7 ast) has scored in double figures in nine straight outings and ranks first in the NEWMAC with 71 three-pointers, and O'Toole (10.3 pts, 8.9 reb) leads the conference in rebounding and is shooting 59.1 percent from the field.
• The Green and White ranks first in NEWMAC play in scoring defense allowing 62.3 points and is forcing a league-high 14.9 turnovers per game, while also ranking second in rebounding margin (+2.8).
SCOUTING THE LIONS
• Emerson (8-13, 4-8 NEWMAC) has dropped seven of its last eight games after suffering an 86-77 loss to MIT on Saturday.
• Jacob Arman scored 20 points, Giulio Volonte contributed 19 points and five rebounds, and Roban hit four triples on the way to putting up 12 points for the Lions, who shot just 38.7 percent and trailed by as many as 18 midway through the second half.
• Lucas Helmhold (12.8 pts, 6.6 reb) is shooting 51.7 percent from the field and has attempted 33 free throws over the last three games, Armant (11.7 pts, 3.6 reb, 3.2 ast) is fifth in the NEWMAC in assists and Guillermo Gasset Ruiz (8.1 pts, 4.3 reb) is shooting 52.7 percent from the field and 51.9 percent from beyond the arc this winter.
• Emerson, which is just 2-8 at home, ranks first in the conference in rebounding margin (+4.0), three-point field goal percentage (39.8) and three-pointers per game (10.1).
O'TOOLE COLLECTS CONFERENCE WEEKLY HONOR
• For the third time over the last four weeks and the fourth time this season, O'Toole was selected as the NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
• He averaged 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 2.0 blocks and recorded a double-double, a season-high five steals and two blocks in last Wednesday's win over Coast Guard, before following it up with four steals and two rejections in just 14 minutes of action on Saturday versus Springfield.
WINNING FROM BEYOND THE ARC
• Babson, which ranks second in conference play in three-pointers per game (9.9), is outscoring its opponents by 12 points per game from three-point range and while holding them to just 30.3 percent shooting.
• The Beavers have made 10 or more three-pointers six times over their first 12 NEWMAC games while limiting their opponents to seven triples or fewer on 10 occasions.
• Springfield finished 0-of-10 shooting from long range last Saturday marking the first time the Green and White has held an opponent without a three-pointer since a 52-34 win over Clark in a NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinal on February 20, 2013.
MOVING UP THE CHARTS
• With his three rebounds on Saturday, O'Toole is just the ninth player in school history to reach 700 for his career. He also ranks sixth all-time with 68 blocked shots and is 14th in program history with 134 steals.
• O'Toole's 84 offensive rebounds this season are tied with Isaiah Nelson's '17 mark from the 2015-16 for the most since Babson began tracking the statistic during the 1999-2000 season.
• Mulvey's 71 three-pointers rank 10th on the single-season list and he is currently tied for 11th on Babson's all-time chart with 123 career triples.
• Lauder ranks 11th in program history with 57 blocked shots.
TRENDS TO WATCH
• Ferdinando ranks fifth in Division III in three-point field goal percentage (45.2) and 12th nationally in three-pointers per game (3.14).
• Mulvey leads the NEWMAC and is fourth in Division III in three-pointers per game (3.38) and enters the week ranked 17th in the country in three-point percentage (43.2).
• Four of O'Toole's team-leading six double-doubles have come during the Beavers' last seven games.
• Lauder has scored in double figures in back-to-back games and averaged 11.0 points on 9-of-16 shooting (56.3 percent) in wins over Coast Guard and Springfield last week.
• Sophomore
Logan Murphy has seven assists against just one turnover over the last two games and matched his season high with four dimes last Saturday versus Springfield.
• Junior
NeJohn Fortes played a season-high 17 minutes on Saturday and contributed five rebounds and a season-high two assists.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 13-3 when shooting 40 percent or better from the field this season.
• Babson is 6-0 this winter when forcing at least 16 turnovers.
• The Green and White is 18-2 going back to the start of last year when allowing 67 points or fewer.
• Babson is 12-0 this winter and 23-2 over the last two seasons when it outrebounds its opponents.
