ANDOVER, N.H.—The Babson College men's alpine ski team swept the podium on the way to recording a first-place finish in the slalom at Proctor Ski Area on Friday afternoon.
The Beavers finished 7.38 seconds ahead of second-place Clarkson and 9.73 seconds better than third-place Clarkson. The victory was the third in as many races to start the season and Babson's 13th in a row in MacConnell Division competition going back to the start of the 2025 campaign.
Senior
Elliot Perretta (Annecy, France), first-year
Asher Baron (South Londonderry, Vt.) and fellow rookie
Niko Leunig (Evergreen, Colo.) were separated by just a half-second while securing the top three spots on the individual leaderboard. Perretta came in first with a two-run time of 1:27.48, Baron posted the first podium finish of his career by placing second in a time of 1:27.80 and Leunig took third in 1:27.98.
Sophomore
Connor Roy (Wellesley, Mass.) finished seventh in a time of 1:29.38, while first-year
Nicholas Heinrich (East Burke, Vt.) came in ninth just over a second behind him with a time of 1:30.38. Sophomore
Jett Sheppard (Park City, Utah) placed 13th crossing the finish line in 1:33.40, senior
Finn Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah) claimed 19th position in a time of 1:34.89 and fellow senior
Sebastian Sheppard (Park City, Utah) and first-year
Ben Hostetter (Osterville, Mass.) came in 21st and 24th, respectively.
Sophomore
James Rosenbloom (Stowe, Vt.) completed the fastest first run of any MacConnell Division competitor (43.86) but was unable to complete his final run.
Babson concludes the weekend at Proctor with a second slalom race beginning on Saturday at 10 a.m.
