MARLBOROUGH, Mass.—Babson College sophomore Penny Baroni (Dennis, Mass.) was tabbed the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week Tuesday afternoon for the first week of the fall season.

Baroni produced four goals and one assist for nine points and was involved in all but one of No. 7 Babson's six goals in two wins over the weekend. She recorded her first career hat trick and scored the game winner in Friday's 4-3 victory at Endicott and then followed up a first-half assist by converting a penalty stroke with just over 10 minutes to go to help the Beavers defeat No. 22 Swarthmore 2-1 on Sunday.

The 2024 NEWMAC Rookie of the Year, Baroni is coming off a season when she scored five goals and added one assist in 23 games, moving into the starting line-up for the final 11 games.

Babson (2-0) is back in action on Sunday, hosting No. 4 Williams at 1 p.m. at MacDowell Field.
