2025 NFHCA Division III Watchlist
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Babson College senior
Caroline DiGiovanni (Harwich, Mass.) and sophomore
Penny Baroni (Dennis, Mass.) were named to the 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Watchlist on Thursday.
Per the NFHCA, the list is intended to showcase field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for consideration to the current year's All-America teams. To be nominated for the 2025 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years (NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American, All-Conference, Nexus Championship selection, AAU Junior Olympic Games selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National or International Team roster) and the student-athlete's head coach must be an active NFHCA member.
A three-year veteran and two-year starter,
DiGiovanni was named to the NFHCA All-Region I and New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) first team in 2024 after putting up a career-best 19 goals and four assists for a career-high 42 points. She ranked 39th in Division III in goals per game and 47th in points per game. The standout forward produced five multi-goal games and had eight goals in her last eight games with three two-goal performances, helping the Beavers claim the NEWMAC regular season and tournament titles and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
A veteran of 62 career games with 44 starts, DiGiovanni has scored 34 goals with five assists for 73 points. She ranks 14th in program history in goals and tied for 20th in points.
After playing in all 23 games and becoming a starter for the final 11 outings last fall,
Baroni was named NEWMAC Rookie of the Year, becoming the eighth Babson player in program history and first since 2021 to receive the award. She scored five goals and added one assist for 11 points, with all of her points coming in a seven-game stretch in October, including the game-winner in a 2-1 conference win at Salve Regina. She scored the first goal in a key 2-1 win at MIT that clinched the NEWMAC regular season crown and helped the team to a 19-4 overall record and 9-0 conference mark.
No. 7 Babson opens the season at Endicott this Friday at 4 p.m. in Beverly, Mass.
