WHAT TO KNOW
• Babson begins NEWMAC Tournament play with an elimination game against MIT on Wednesday afternoon at Sol Gittleman Field on the campus of Tufts University.
• The winner will join Salve Regina, Coast Guard and either Wheaton or Clark in the double elimination portion of the championship, which is scheduled to get underway on Friday afternoon.

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 63-42-1 all-time against MIT in a series that that dates back to 1980.

POSTSEASON HISTORY
• Babson is 13-9 all-time against MIT in the conference playoffs, which includes a 4-6 record in NEWMAC Tournament elimination games.

• John Spivey and Reed Tubbs both homered during a five-run fifth inning as MIT defeated Babson 13-1 in a seven innings back on April 1 in Cambridge.
• Spivey was 3-for-4 with two doubles, four RBI and three runs scored, Teddy Schoenfeld went 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored, and Louis Hernandez added a solo shot for the Engineers, who put together a six-run sixth inning and got 6.0 innings of one-run relief from Chase Rubin.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Sixth-seeded Babson (23-12) dropped four of its final five games to close the regular season and is coming off a 5-1 loss at Springfield in game two of Saturday's doubleheader.
• Sadowsky went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Savage doubled and scored in the sixth inning for the Beavers, who matched their season low with just four hits in the loss.

Chase Burrows (4-1, 3.26 ERA) boast a 0.98 WHIP and has walked just two batters in 47.0 innings pitched, and Teator (0-0, 2.16 ERA) has recorded six saves and is holding opposing hitters to a .200 average in 16.2 innings over 15 appearances out of the bullpen this spring.
SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
• Third-seeded MIT (16-18) snapped a two-game skid with an 8-6 win over Clark in last Saturday's regular season finale.
• CJ McCarthy went 2-for-4 with a homer, a double and four RBI, Zev Moore was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI, and Schoenfeld singled, knocked in two runs and also scored twice for the Engineers, who got 5.0 innings of shutout relief from Phillip Hood.
• Moore is batting .395 with eight homers, nine doubles, 28 RBI and 37 runs scored, Spivey is hitting .338 with eight homers, nine doubles, 34 RBI and 38 runs scored, and Tubbs enters the postseason with a .336 average to go along with seven doubles, six home runs, 33 RBI, 19 stolen bases and 28 runs scored.
• Mason Estrada (5-0, 2.57 ERA) is holding opposing hitters to a .154 average while striking out 61 in 35.0 innings pitched, Brian Rapanan is 4-1 with a 2.83 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 47.2 innings, and Hoopd (2-2, 3.97 ERA) has recorded five saves over 34.0 innings of work over 16 appearances out of the bullpen.
BEAVERS IN THE POSTSEASON
• Babson claimed its seventh conference title (1996, 1997, 2004, 2009, 2017, 2018, 2024) by winning three consecutive elimination games in last year's NEWMAC Tournament.
• The Beavers have reached the championship round in seven of the last eight conference tournaments dating back to 2016.
• Babson has opened NEWMAC Tournament play with a win in four consecutive seasons and seven times in tries since 2016.

MOVING UP THE CHARTS
• Santos, who is already the program's all-time leader with 61 stolen bases, has moved into third place all-time with 95 walks and his 132 runs scored rank fifth in school history.
• Savage, who is tied for second on Babson's career list with 24 home runs, moved into a tie for third place in both total bases (284) and RBI (124) on Saturday at Springfield. He also is now tied for sixth with 39 career doubles.
• Graduate student
Tristen Spalter, who is tied for sixth in strikeouts (138) and ranks eighth in Babson history in wins (14), became just the fifth pitcher in school history to surpass 200 innings pitched on April 27.
• Guest was plunked for the 16th time this season on Saturday at Springfield, which matches the single-season record set by Travis Jonasson '12 back in 2011.
STREAKING INTO THE POSTSEASON
• Liss has reached base in 29 consecutive games going back to March 18, while Guest has reached safely in 23 straight contests.
• Savage has been in base in each of last 13 starts and is batting .377 with four doubles, three homers, 18 RBI and 16 runs scored during this stretch.

Gabe Cushner has homered twice and drive in four runs in six starts over the last 10 contests.

• Savage has homered three times in seven conference tournament games over the last two years, while Guest hit .333 with two doubles, two RBI and five runs scored in last year's six-game run to a conference title.
• In three career postseason starts, Spalter is 3-0 with a 1.90 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 23.2 innings, while Teator made three appearances out of the bullpen in last year's NEWMAC Tournament and recorded three saves while holding opposing hitters to a .133 average in 4.1 innings pitched.
