PENFIELD, N.Y.—Babson College first-year
Aman Vantipalli (Alpharetta, Ga.) was named to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Freshman team at the conclusion of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship last Friday at Midvale Country Club.
Vantipalli was one of six first-year players honored along with Mitch Bolte of Wittenberg, Myles Cunningham of Gettysburg, Mattias Morris of Aurora, Nilay Naik of Pomona-Pitzer, Alvin Su of Rochester, and Turner Chiles of Sewanee. Chiles also was selected as the 2025 Division III Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by StrackaLine.
A GCAA/PING Region I honoree earlier this month, Vantipalli concluded his rookie campaign fifth in Region I and 94th in the Scoreboard Division III rankings. He posted a 73.80 stroke average, which was good for second on the team, and finished under par five times in 20 rounds on the year.
Additionally, Vantipalli's scoring average is the best by a first-year in Babson history and is tied for seventh overall on the program's single-season list.
Vantipalli recorded three top-15 and six top-20 finishes in eight tournaments, which included tying for ninth with a 54-hole score of 2-over 215 at the West Pines Collegiate on October 7-8. He also shot 73-70-69 to grab a share of 20th at 1-under 213 in the Golfweek Fall Preview a week later and opened the spring by shooting 76-69 to tie for 17th place at 1-over 145 in the Tiger Invitational back in March.
Vantipalli also tied for 14th at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, N.C., on April 4-6 and finished in a tie for 28th position at the Cochran Collegiate in Memphis on April 14-15.
