SERIES HISTORY
vs. Springfield

• Babson is 32-41 all-time against Springfield in a series that dates back to 1999. 
• Prior to the Beavers' 1-0 win over the Pride in last year's NEWMAC Tournament, Babson had dropped four in a row in the series, which was preceded by an eight-game winning streak from 2019-23.
• Since 2017, 11 of the last 20 games between Babson and Springfield have been decided by either one or two runs. 
vs. MIT
• Babson is 46-29 all-time against MIT in a series that dates back to 1988.
• The Beavers have captured just one of the last six outings against the Engineers since 2023 but are 4-2 in regular season games the past three seasons.
• The Green and White are 7-7 vs. MIT at Briggs Field since 2017.

LAST MEETING
vs. Springfield
• Graduate student Moira O'Reilly spun a three-hit, 1-0 shutout over Springfield on day one of the NEWMAC Tournament at Potter Field on May 7, 2024, to become Babson's all-time wins leader.
• The Beavers got six hits from six different players, none bigger than junior Sophia Pak's two-out RBI single to left in the sixth inning for what proved to be the game-winning run. That scored junior Allie Cubberly, who pinch ran for Kate Karamouzis '23 M'24 after she drew a leadoff walk.
• O'Reilly allowed just three hits and three walks while striking out five. Junior Amelia DeRosa went the distance for the Pride, allowing just one run on six hits and a walk, but suffered the tough-luck loss.
vs. MIT
• Junior Caroline Langmeyer, the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, allowed just four hits and a walk while striking out six for MIT in a 4-0 win over Babson in the NEWMAC Tournament final on May 11, 2024.
Michaela Russell M'24 hit a double for the Beavers and Cassidy Musco '24 and sophomores Emily Walsh and Charlotte Raymond had singles in the loss.
• Senior Mackenzie Bivin produced a double, a triple, two runs scored and two RBI for the Engineers, while classmate Michaela Cable had a single, a double and a run scored. Sophomore Arianna Kumar and senior Kennedy Adkison both contributed RBI singles in the win.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (9-4, 1-1 NEWMAC) split a pair of one-run games against Coast Guard in the first NEWMAC doubleheader of the season last Saturday, winning game one, 5-4, but dropping game two, 7-6.
• Senior Sara Moore and Pak both singled three times, drove in a run and scored, and Raymond singled twice for the Beavers in the opener, while O'Reilly struck out six and allowed just one run in the win. First-year Belle DiCampello was 3-for-4 with a homer and two runs scored while Raymond was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in game two. Grad student Cameron Whiteford finished 2-for-3 with two RBI at the plate but took the loss in the circle after giving up four earned runs while striking out six.
• Pak, who is second in the NEWMAC with a .488 batting average, has a team-high 20 hits, including a double, a triple, eight RBI, 10 runs scored and a .543 on-base percentage. DiCampello (.350) has two doubles, a home run and seven RBI, and Moore (.340) has a triple, 11 runs scored, eight RBI and seven stolen bases. Walsh leads the team with three doubles and shares the team lead with eight RBI and 11 runs scored.
• Whiteford is 4-2 with a 3.11 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 36.0 innings pitched, while O'Reilly is 2-2 with a 3.00 ERA and 45 K's in 28.0 innings in the circle. Sophomore Katie Vlacich is 3-0 with a 3.20 and 24 strikeouts in 19.2 innings of work.

SCOUTING THE PRIDE
• Springfield (10-6, 1-1 NEWMAC) split its first NEWMAC doubleheader of the season against Emerson last Saturday, falling 1-0 in the opener and winning the nightcap, 8-7, at Potter Field in Springfield.
• Graduate student Callie Gendron had two hits in the opener for the Pride. DeRosa took the loss despite giving up just one run on three hits in three innings in the circle. Grad student Lucy Puskas went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, and three RBI in game two, first-year Katie Manzone had two hits and an RBI, and junior Kate Katsetos had a double and two RBI. First-year Abby Robinson earned the win, allowing one run on four hits in 2.1 innings of relief for the Pride, which took a 5-0 lead in the first inning but needed a run in the sixth inning to break a 7-7 tie.
• Gendron (.529) leads the NEWMAC in hitting, ranks second in doubles (7) and RBI (18), and third in home runs (3). Manzone (.408) has three doubles, 10 RBI and 10 runs, Katsetos (.349) has 16 RBI, DeRosa (.339) has scored a team-high 18 runs, and Puskas (.278) has seven extra-base hits and 16 RBI.
• DeRosa is 4-4 with a 3.50 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 46 innings of work while first-year Julia Rimshnick is 4-1 with a 5.97 ERA and 25 Ks in 31.2 innings. Robinson is 2-1 in five appearances and first-year Lily McCauliffe (1.14 ERA) has two saves and 12 strikeouts in 12.1 innings.

SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
• MIT (10-4, 1-1 NEWMAC) is coming off a non-conference doubleheader split at Endicott on Wednesday, winning game one, 5-4, before dropping game two, 8-6, in Beverly, Mass.
• First-year Layla Thiessen had three hits with a double, Cable had two hits with a home run, and junior Olivia Scarpaci hit a home run with two RBI in the game one victory, with Langmeyer earning the win in the circle with a complete-game effort. Junior Ava Ladd belted a three-run homer and first-year Delaney Benevides had two hits in the nightcap.
• Benevides (.439) leads the team in hitting and stolen bases (14), Cable (.408) has three home runs, 12 RBI and a team-high 15 runs scored, and Thiessen (.405) has three doubles, a triple and nine stolen bases. Adkison (.386) has scored 12 runs, Ladd (.361) has six extra-base hits and a team-high 13 RBI, first-year Maggie Feng (.351) has five doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI, Kumar (.341) has four doubles and a triple, and Scarpaci (.324) two doubles, a triple and three home runs for the Engineers, who have a .349 team batting average.
• Langmeyer is 4-1 with a 3.94 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 32 innings, senior Katie Katsuyama is 2-1 with a 5.15 ERA in four starts, junior Nicole Doering is 2-2 with a 5.73 ERA in three starts, and first-year Sarah Blackett is 1-0 with a 2.93 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 14.1 innings.

THE ELITE OF THE NEWMAC
• Babson was picked to finish second when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) released its 2025 preseason coaches' poll prior to the season.
• Last year's tournament runner-up, the Beavers received one first-place vote and finished behind two-time defending champion MIT, and Springfield was picked third to round out the top three.

BUSY BEAVERS
• Pak brings a six-game winning streak and a 10-game on-base streak into the weekend. She has at least one hit in 11 of the 13 games this season with six multi-hit contests and a trio of three-knock outings.
• DiCampello, who produced her first career three-hit game against Coast Guard, has hit safely in 10 of the 13 games and reached base safely in all 13.
• Moore has hit safely in nine of her 13 games with six multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games for the Beavers.
• Hadjipanayis has hit safely in four straight games, going 6-for-15 with three runs scored.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS
• With three hits against Coast Guard, Moore has climbed into a tie for fourth with Ashley Tango '19 on the program's all-time list with 178 hits.
• Moore has also moved up to ninth on the all-time list for runs scored with 107, two behind Samantha Smith '18 for eighth, three back of Michelle Malone '02 for seventh, and five shy of Nicole Lantini '12 for sixth.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 6-1 this season and 17-1 since the start of last season when scoring at least six runs.
• The Green and White are 8-2 this spring when out-hitting their opponents.
• Babson is 4-0 this spring and 28-2 going back to 2024 when allowing two runs or fewer.
• The Beavers are 5-1 this season when scoring first.
• Four of Babson's nine wins this spring have come by way of the eight-run mercy rule. 

UP NEXT
• The Beavers will travel to Framingham State on Tuesday for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
