Four from Softball Receive NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Recognition

MARLBOROUGH, Mass.—Four members of the Babson College softball program were honored for their work in the classroom when they were named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference team on Wednesday.

Senior Sophia Pak (New Rochelle, N.Y.) becomes a three-time member of the Academic All-Conference team, junior Mia Vittozzi (North Reading, Mass.) was recognized for the second straight year, and junior Lexi Sealey (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) and sophomore Maddy DeLong (Cranford, N.J.) were honored for the first time in their respective careers.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale after the 2025 fall semester, achieved second-year academic status, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire semester.

An Accounting major, Pak capped off her collegiate career by starting 32 games in the outfield and batting .269 with 25 hits and nine walks to go along with five RBI and 16 runs scored. She had six multi-hit contests, including a three-hit outing against MIT. A four-year veteran and a 2025 All-Region and All-NEWMAC performer, she started 129 of her 137 appearances and registered a .329 career batting average with 126 hits, 34 walks, 12 doubles, four triples, one home run, 50 RBI, 57 runs scored and eight stolen bases.

A Business major and transfer from the University of Hartford, Sealey had a successful spring in her first season with the Green and White, earning All-NEWMAC honors. She started all 43 games and led the team with a .355 batting average, producing 49 hits, 17 doubles, one triple, one home run, 28 RBI and 23 runs scored. She was third in the NEWMAC in doubles and 12th in hits. Her 17 two-baggers rank third on Babson's all-time single-season list for doubles. She also made 20 appearances for the Beaver in the circle, including three starts, posting a 3-3 record with three saves and a 3.71 ERA, striking out 22 batters in 60.1 innings.

A Finance major who has battled injuries, Vittozzi made her collegiate debut with a pinch-hit appearance against the University of New England back on March 18.

A Business major, DeLong is a two-year starter in the Babson infield who started all 43 games this spring. She batted .258 with 31 hits, seven doubles, 12 walks, 12 RBI and 18 runs scored, ranking third on the team in runs. She had seven multi-hit outings, including a three-hit performance in a win over Emerson. She has started all 72 of her career contests, batting .246 with 46 hits, 22 walks, 10 doubles, one home run, 19 RBI and 29 runs scores.
