Softball Travels to Trinity for Twinbill on Wednesday

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 3-2 all-time against Trinity in a series that dates back to 2004.
• The Beavers and Bantams will be facing each other for the first time since 2015.
• Wednesday's games will be the first doubleheader between the two teams as all of the previous meetings were singles games that took place during spring break in California (2004) or Florida (2005, 2006, 2013, and 2015).

LAST MEETING
• Madison Dinaso ripped an RBI triple and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Meaghan Merullo in the bottom of the fifth inning as Babson came from behind to defeat Trinity, 3-2, on March 16, 2015, in Clermont, Fla.
• Caitie Benoit and Leslie Moore also contributed back-to-back doubles in the second inning for the Beavers, and Meghan Hayes allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while fanning four.
• Elizabeth McQuaid and Erica Correa each had a hit and an RBI for the Bantams, and Hannah King surrendered three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five in the loss.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (14-7, 6-4 NEWMAC) split a conference doubleheader with Wheaton on Monday, coming from behind to win 5-4 in game one before falling 1-0 in game two at Alumni Field.
• Junior Sophia Pak went 6-for-7 on the day, including her first career four-hit performance and knocking in the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning of the opener. Senior Sara Moore had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored, and first-year Belle DiCampello collected a pair of knocks and an RBI, while grad student Moira O'Reilly earned the win with a complete-game effort, allowing just one earned run and fanning six. Grad student Cameron Whiteford suffered the hard-luck loss in the nightcap, giving up just one unearned run and fanning seven.
• Pak (.530), who leads the NEWMAC in hitting, has a team-high 35 hits, including two doubles, a triple, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored and a .569 on-base percentage. Moore (.347) has a triple, 17 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases and first-year Belle DiCampello (.328) has three doubles, a home run and 11 RBI. Sophomore Emily Walsh leads the team with five doubles and has 10 RBI and 15 runs scored.
• O'Reilly is 4-3 with a 2.17 ERA and 61 K's in 48.1 innings in the circle while Whiteford is 6-4 with a 2.19 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 64.0 innings pitched. Sophomore Katie Vlacich is 4-0 with a 2.45 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 25.2 innings of work.

SCOUTING THE BANTAMS
• Trinity (7-14, 2-8 NESCAC) dropped a pair of conference games at Williams on Monday, 2-0 and 8-0 in five innings, in Williamstown, Mass.
• Senior Taylor Mikolajczak doubled and sophomore Makenna True added a single for the only two hits in the opener, and sophomore Zofia Sargent allowed just two runs on six hits and struck out one but took the loss. Senior Erin Steed, who walked twice in the opener, managed the only hit for the Bantams in the nightcap.
• Mikolajczak (.433) leads the team with 29 hits, five doubles, and 24 runs scored for the Bantams. Junior Abigail Alper (.351) has 26 hits, five doubles, two triples, four home runs, and 12 stolen bases, and graduate student Kennedy Rogers (.318) has four doubles, three home runs and a team-high 18 RBI. Sophomore Isabella Calagna (.367) has 14 RBI and senior Hannah Mullaney (.333) has four doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI.
• Sargent is 4-8 with a 6.12 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 76.2 innings and sophomore Annie Konieczka is 3-5 with a 9.06 ERA.

WHITEFORD NAMED NEWMAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
• For the second time this season, Whiteford was named the NEWMAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
• Whiteford went 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA and a 0.71 WHIP to go along with 15 strikeouts in 14.0 innings over two starts for the Green and White.

RECORD SETTERS
• Moore is the Beavers' all-time leader with 82 stolen bases and ranks fourth all-time with 187 career hits behind Catie Funk '12 (231), Andrea Cartullo '07 (223) and Jackie Enos '12 (188). Moore is also sixth on the all-time list with 113 runs scored, three back of Jessica Barry '03 (116).
• Already the program's all-time leader in wins, strikeouts and shutouts, O'Reilly passed Ali Reilly's '18 mark of 600.2 innings pitched last Wednesday at MIT. 

HIT PARADE
• Pak extended her hitting streak to five games against Wheaton with her team-leading 10th and 11th multi-hit outings and her first career 4-hit performance.
• Moore has finished with at least two hits eight times and DiCampello has five multi-hit games.. 
• Walsh is first on the squad with four multi-RBI games, while Moore and sophomore Ruby Madia have both contributed at least two runs batted in three times this spring. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 10-0 this season when leading after five innings. 
• Babson is 13-2 on the year when recording more hits than its opponents. 
• The Geen and White are 10-2 when scoring the first run of the game

UP NEXT
• The Beavers will play back-to-back New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheaders at Wellesley on Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at Alumni Field against Emerson at 12 p.m.
