No. 15 Women's Tennis to Host Clark in NEWMAC Match on Wednesday

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 27-2 against Clark going back to 1994.
• The Beavers have won 23 consecutive matches against the Cougars, which includes 11 straight 9-0 victories since 2011.

LAST MEETING
• Then-No. 20 Babson got points in both singles and doubles from five different players en route to a 9-0 victory over Clark on PRIL 16, 2024 at the Corash Tennis Courts in Worcester.
Jane Wang '24, Laetitia Rizk, junior Elena Keitt, Mariana Campos, and sophomore Dana Kamal were all double winners for the Beavers, while sophomore Chaniel Soffer took the number one singles match and junior Shyla Khattar was on the winning tandem at number two doubles.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 15 Babson (8-3, 2-1 NEWMAC) is coming off an impressive 5-2 victory over No. 17 Case Western Reserve on Saturday in Atlanta.
• Senior Olivia Soffer, junior Matia Cristiani and Chaniel Soffer all recorded wins in both singles and doubles in the victory. Chaniel and first-year Alessandra Cristiani were winners at number two doubles, while the duo of sophomore Dana Kamal and first-year Mia Sorrentino took the set at number three.
• Olivia (20-4) has won 10 straight matches at No. 1 singles and Matia (17-1) has won 12 in a row at No. 2. Chaniel (14-5), Alessandra (12-6) and junior Grace Starcher (10-4) have all reached double figures in singles wins.
• Olivia and Matia are 14-2 this year in doubles, including 7-1 at No. 1 in dual matches, and Chaniel and Alessandra are 5-5 at No. 2 doubles.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
• Clark (2-12, 0-5 NEWMAC) dropped a 7-0 decision to Springfield on Sunday in a NEWMAC encounter in Springfield.
• Sophomore Varvara Maltseva and first-year Amanda Keith won three games in a loss at number three doubles. Senior Emma Allen collected five games won across two sets at number six singles, and sophomore Olivia Shipley and Maltseva each won four games at number two and number three.
• The Cougars registered victories over Mary Baldwin (7-0) on March 2 and St. John Fisher (5-2) on March 4, both in Hilton Head, S.C.

BABSON SWEEPS NEWMAC WEEKLY HONORS
• The Beavers swept the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's tennis weekly awards as Olivia Soffer was named Singles Player of the Week and the duo of Chaniel Soffer and Alessandra Cristiani were tabbed as the Doubles team of the Week.
• Olivia recorded a pair of straight-set wins at number one singles and Chaniel and Alessandra went 2-0 at number two doubles as No. 15 Babson split a pair of matches versus nationally-ranked foes in Atlanta over the weekend.

HOME, SWEET HOME
• The Beavers, who are 2-0 at home this season, have won their last 17 contests at the Babson Tennis Courts dating back to May 3, 2023.
• Babson has won its last 25 matches against Division III foes at home stretching back to April 24, 2019.

BABSON VS. THE NEWMAC
• Babson has posted an 25-4 regular season record against NEWMAC foes since 2021, and a 52-9 mark going back to 2015.
• The Beavers were 8-1 in the NEWMAC last season, with six of their wins by 9-0 scores and one win each by scores of 8-1 and 7-2.
• Olivia Soffer has a career 20-0 regular season singles record against conference opponents and a 16-2 mark in doubles. Matia Cristiani is 11-0 all-time against NEWMAC foes in both singles and doubles, junior Elena Keitt is 11-0 in singles and 10-3 in doubles, and Stasiowska is 9-1 in singles and 9-2 in doubles.

BEAVER BITES
• A Babson women's tennis player has recorded at least 20 singles wins in a season eight times in program history, four by Olivia Soffer and twice by Matia Cristiani.
• Olivia's 34 singles and doubles victories this season ranks tied for 10th on the program's career list for combined wins in a season.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers have gone 9-1 at number one and two singles and 8-2 at number three.
• Babson has secured the doubles point in 10 of its 11 matches and is 10-1 at number one doubles.
