SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
• MIT (6-10, 1-1 NEWMAC) is coming off a 13-3 7-inning win over No. 7/8 Salve Regina on Friday afternoon.
• McCarthy and Tubbs each went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, Zev Moore hit a solo shot and John Spivey knocked in a pair of runs in support of Mason Estrada, who struck out six and allowed two unearned runs over 4.0 innings for the Engineers.
• Moore is batting .424 with three homers, six doubles, 14 RBI and 18 runs scored, Tubbs is hitting .328 with five doubles, two home runs, 12 RBI, nine stolen bases and 16 runs scored, and McCarthy enters the week with a .327 average to go along with three home runs, five doubles and nine runs batted in.
• Estrada (2-0, 1.26 ERA) boasts a 0.84 WHIP and has 27 strikeouts in 14.1 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .106 average, Brian Rapanan is 1-1 with a 4.82 earned run average in 18.2 innings pitched and Chase Rubin is 2-2 with a 5.94 ERA over 16.2 innings in six appearances on the year.
SANTOS APPROACHES STOLEN BASE RECORD
• Santos, who swiped three bags in Saturday's game-one win over Emerson, is just now just one stolen base shy of the Beavers' program record of 55 set by Steve Tahmoush '08 from 2005-08.
• Santos is 5-for-5 in steal attempts this season and is the only player in Babson history to record at least 20 stolen bases in two different seasons after setting a career high with 23 in 2023 and finishing with 21 last spring.
STRONG STARTS
• Finkelstein and junior
James Clark combined to strike out 15 batters while giving up just three hits and issuing one walk over 13.0 innings in Saturday's sweep of Emerson.
• Clark, who struck out seven to improve to 2-0 with his first career shutout, allowed just a first inning single before retiring the next 16 batters he faced in a dominating performance as the Beavers were 12-1 winners in Saturday's opener against the Lions.
• Finkelstein recorded a season-high eight strikeouts and gave up no runs on two hits over 6.0 innings to improve to 1-0 on the year in game two.
BEAVER BITES
• Sophomore
Dante D'Avanzo matched an NCAA Division III single-game record with three sacrifice flies in game two of Saturday's sweep over Emerson.
• Sadowsky enters the week riding a nine-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in each of his last 10 starts.
• Liss owns a seven-game hitting streak and is batting .385 (10-for-26) with two homers, three doubles and 16 runs batted in during this stretch.
• Moses also enters Tuesday's contest with a five-game hitting streak, while Liss and Guest lead the Green and White with six multi-hit games apiece.
